Geovid HD-B series of rangefinding binoculars made by Leica Camera AG stands for innovation and high optical performance. These binoculars are equipped with a ballistic calculator called ABC (Advanced Ballistic Compensation). It offers two interesting functions: 1. The binoculars can display correction in centimeters or inches and the required deviation at point-blank range along with the distance. 2. The POI is corrected with Bullet Drop Compensator, displaying the clicks required to adjust the reticle (1 MOA, 1/3 MOA, ¼ MOA, 10 mm/100 m and 5 mm/100 m). Geovid binoculars are equipped with Perger-Porro prisms that greatly increase the light transmission rate, making the device usable in all lighting conditions. Images are also extremely rich in details and high in contrast. You can choose between 42mm and 56mm lenses for both daytime and nighttime observations. The optical performance of these is truly outstanding – the HD optical system is fully multi-coated, and the fluoride glass makes the view through incredibly bright, colorful and razor-sharp from edge to edge. HD-B is equipped with multi-positioned eyecups and a central focus wheel with right eye diopter for adjusting the focus and left-eye diopter for adjusting the LED-display information. The models first released to the public had the capability of measuring distances to objects up to 1000 yards away, while the new ones have an amazing range of detection of up to 3000 yards (2700 meters). Geovids boast a wide field of view.
Geovid HD-B is a rangefinding binocular. Along with the standard features such as EHR (equivalent horizontal range), it is equipped with a sophisticated ballistic computer.
Function 1: Correction with Bullet Drop Compensator (BDC), displaying clicks to adjust the reticle.
Function 2: Calculation of distance considering temperature, air pressure and angle of inclination.
You can also upload your own ballistic data with the help of a MicroSD card. Once uploaded and set, the program will take your ballistic curve into account.
Geovid HD-B has incredible ergonomics with an open-hinge design that helps you hold them in hands comfortably and carry them for a longer time. A non-slip rugged rubber armoring made from magnesium protects them against impacts and abrasion. These binoculars are nitrogen filled and thus fully protected against internal fogging. You can also submerge them to a water depth of 5 meters (16.5 feet).
Geovid HD-B has a Perger Porro system that provides the best of both worlds – roof and Porro prisms. The system maximizes light gathering and provides incredibly bright images with the help of a fully multi-coated extra-low dispersion fluoride glass system that minimizes chromatic aberration. The lenses are coated with thin layers of Leica's Highly Durable Coating (HDC), the prisms are phase corrected (P-40) and the HighLux System provides brilliant contrast, vibrant colors and an outstandingly sharp resolution from edge to edge. The Aquadura coating is applied to external glass surfaces. It significantly repels moisture, oil, dust, and other particles. This feature extends the lifetime of binoculars since you don’t need to clean them very much. They are equipped with twist-up four click-stop eyecups that allow a proper eye relief setting for those not wearing glasses. Focusing is adjusted with a central focus wheel.
Geovid HD-B is equipped with rain-guards, objective lens covers, a neoprene neck strap, and a carrying case.
