Docter Basic rifle scopes were introduced just recently by the Company Docter and are in essence a derivate from the Docter Unipoint rifle scope series. This means that these scope have great optical properties, very high light transmission rate and day time usable illumination system. The major difference compared to Unipoint series lies in the different control system for the illuminated reticle. While Unipoint scopes have a tipcontrol system where illumination is controlled by push of a button, Basic scopes have a more conventional system with a rotating button.
The reticles in Docter Basic rifle scopes have the same design as in Docter Unipoint rifle scope with the illuminated dot situated in second focal plane (reticle doesn't change with magnification) and reticle bars in first focal plane (reticle changes with magnification). This offer great target acquisition at low magnification setting when the dot is bigger on the target and reticle is thin. This kind of design also offers precise aiming at higher magnification setting when the dot covers only a small part of the target. Higher magnification settings are also suitable for low light use since reticle bars are thicker at this magnification setting.
