Vixen New Apex 12x30 DCF

Small yet powerful, these compact binoculars are easy to pack in your bag and carry about when out in the field, yet at the same time, they can bring you a good level of image detail at long distances. These two main attributes make the Vixen New Apex 12x30 DCF the ideal companion to those operating in wide open spaces and especially useful to those who also carry other equipment, like a backpacker, hunter or wildlife photographer and thus need their binoculars to be as lightweight and easy to carry as possible.

Whilst the 30 mm lenses are slightly larger than the other compact models within the New Apex series and thus make the instrument a little larger, it does mean that they are able to capture more light. However, the fact that they have a more powerful 12x magnification means that the binocular produces a fairly small 2.5mm exit pupil. This indicates that these binoculars are perfectly fine for use during the day, but are not the ideal option in low light situations.

Note: If you wear glasses whilst using your binoculars, the 12mm of eye relief may not be sufficient to ensure that you are able to view the entire field of view. As an alternative, take a look at the models in the Vixen Atrek Series.
