Made in Japan, the 10x25 Vixen Atrek II binocular sports field flattener lenses that offer an improved image across the full width of the view. Other improvements over the standard Atrek HR 10x25 include a wider field of view. For uses such as birding or some wildlife observation, this can be important as it makes it easier to scan large areas and then keep fast and erratic moving targets in view.
Their small size and low weight make them a great travel companion and would be an asset on any walking safari or hiking adventure, but especially in conditions where the light is generally good and the observation distances are a little greater. So rather than confined spaces like a small back garden or a thick forest or woodland, these are better suited to the open plains or savannah, coastal areas or up in the hills and mountains.
With a good minimum focus distance, these are also suitable for the occasional study of flowers, butterflies and other insects.
At 15mm the eye relief is adequate, however, should you need to wear glasses, this may not be sufficient, even with the eyecups fully twisted down to prevent black rings forming on the edges of the view whilst wearing glasses. Should this be of concern, perhaps consider the standard Atrek HR 10x25 that has an excellent 18 mm of eye relief.
