Athlon draws inspiration for the naming of their riflescopes from Greek mythology. They have many riflescopes in their offer, and each series encompasses riflescopes from a specific price class. In the Neos series, Athlon’s entry-level riflescopes are positioned, while the Cronus series comprises their top of the line riflescopes.
Some of Athlon riflescopes carry the ‘BTR’ mark. BTR stands for Bright Tactical Reticle, which basically means that the riflescope features an illuminated tactical reticle.
Cronus is Athlon's top of the range riflescope series. The improved and redesigned ‘BTR’ series carries a high price tag but is packed with various useful features. Currently, there is one model available, the Cronus BTR 4.5-29x56. They are manufactured in Japan. Cronus BTR comes with a lifetime warranty.
It features ED glass, giving you a bright and sharp image. The first focal plane reticle changes in size with magnification and thus remains valid, allowing you to fully utilize the specially designed reticle as you increase or decrease the magnification.
The reticle is etched on the glass, making the whole construction more durable and providing greater shock resistance to recoil. The high precision erector system ensures that each power setting is on point and makes for a smoother magnification change.
The optics are fully multi-coated, reducing the reflection of light and providing a brighter image. The XPL coating applied to the external parts of the lenses repels dirt and oil from the surfaces. It also partially protects against scratches. Thanks to argon purging, Cronus BTR is waterproof and fogproof, providing protection against water and allowing you to immediately engage your target when you take your rifle from a warm to a cold place.
Athlon Cronus BTR 4.5–29x56 features exposed multi-turn turrets with a Zero Stop function. The rifle scope comes with a big elevation range (32 mil/110 MOA) and 18 mil/64 MOA of windage adjustment. The illuminated reticle can be set to 11 brightness settings and provides great visibility in a low light environment.
It has three reticle options, all of them with a Christmas tree design. Two of them come in MIL and one in MOA.
The product comes with 10 years of warranty. You can read more about the warranty policy here.
