The lens coatings ensure excellent light transmission and image sharpness and are designed for use in extreme conditions. The special waterproof technology ensures safe use even if binoculars fell under water to up to 10 meters deep. The housing of Steiner Commander XP binoculars is filled with dry nitrogen to prevent dew build up at extremely low temperatures. The outer lens surfaces are protected with a Nano-Protection coating which repels water droplets and dirt. Image focusing and dioptre adjustment is done separately for each eye which ensures excellent individual setting. Distance measurement is possible with an integrated scale that can be used to recognize the size of the objects. The Steiner Commander XP models with the integrated compass have one of the largest one on the market. It also has an illuminated scale to ensure precise direction indication.
