Yukon Jaeger 3-9x40

• 3-9x magnification range: This zoom span covers close woodland shots as well as more deliberate medium-range shooting, so the scope adapts well to mixed hunting conditions without becoming overly bulky.
• Illuminated SFP reticle: The second-focal-plane reticle stays visually fine as magnification changes, helping maintain a clear aiming point on small targets while the red illumination improves reticle visibility in dim light.
• 90 mm eye relief: Generous eye relief supports safer use on harder-recoiling rifles and gives a more forgiving head position when shooting from improvised field positions.
• Nitrogen-filled, waterproof construction: The sealed optical path resists internal fogging during temperature swings and keeps the scope usable in rain, snow, and damp hunting environments.
• Reinforced 30 mm body with capped turrets: The robust tube is suited to practical field use, while capped adjustment turrets protect zero from accidental movement during transport or when moving through brush.

About the Yukon Jaeger Series

The Yukon Jaeger series is Yukon’s dedicated line of daytime riflescopes, built for hunters who need one optic to cover different hunting styles and distances. Within the manufacturer’s range, Jaeger sits as a versatile hunting-focused family with models from 1-4x24 to 3-12x56, giving shooters options for driven hunting, general stalking, and more deliberate medium- to longer-range work.

A defining trait of the series is its emphasis on field durability. Nitrogen-purged optics help prevent internal fogging when temperatures change quickly, while the reinforced body design is intended to accommodate clip-on night vision or thermal attachments. Yukon also equips the series with illuminated second-focal-plane reticles, a practical choice for hunting because the reticle remains visually fine across the magnification range and does not dominate the target image at higher power.

The Jaeger line is also shaped around straightforward, reliable handling. Resettable windage and elevation turrets, waterproof construction, and hunting-oriented magnification ranges make these scopes suitable for real field use rather than bench-only shooting. The result is a riflescope family designed around practical visibility, dependable mechanics, and compatibility with modern hunting setups.

About the Yukon Jaeger 3-9x40

The Yukon Jaeger 3-9x40 is the most balanced all-round model in the Jaeger line, combining a useful magnification range with a compact hunting format. At 3-9x magnification, it works well for short-range opportunities in dense cover, yet still provides enough top-end power for more precise shot placement at medium distances. The 40 mm objective lens keeps the scope slimmer and easier to mount than larger-objective alternatives, which helps maintain a practical rifle profile for stalking and general-purpose hunting.

Its second-focal-plane illuminated reticle is well suited to hunting use. Because the reticle stays the same apparent size throughout the zoom range, it remains fine enough for careful aiming at higher magnification, while the red illumination helps the center stand out against dark game or shaded backgrounds. The scope uses capped turrets with 1/4 MOA click adjustment, a sensible setup for hunters who prioritize a protected zero and occasional corrections rather than constant dialling in the field.

Mechanically, the scope is built for demanding use. 90 mm eye relief gives comfortable spacing on centerfire rifles and helps manage recoil, while the fast-focus eyepiece allows quick reticle sharpening to the shooter’s eye. A 30 mm tube, shockproof construction, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof sealing all support reliable use in changing weather and rough terrain. For hunters wanting one riflescope that covers varied distances without unnecessary bulk, this model offers a practical middle ground.

About Yukon

Yukon traces its origins to 1991, when a group of enthusiasts began assembling handmade wooden observation tubes. The company later expanded into more advanced electro-optical products, beginning production of night vision devices in 1999 and manufacturing night vision riflescopes in 2001. Its development path reflects a strong focus on observation and aiming technology rather than general sporting goods.

Today, Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania and is known for developing thermal imaging, digital night vision, and daytime optical devices. The company’s portfolio has also included binoculars and spotting scopes since a 1998 merger with Beltex Optic broadened the range sold under the Yukon Advanced Optics name. That background is relevant here because Yukon’s riflescopes are shaped by a manufacturer with long experience in rugged field optics and in systems designed to work alongside night vision and thermal equipment.
