This tiny, yet powerful 10x monocular from Vortex is the perfect companion to anyone needing a true pocket-sized instrument.
The 10x magnification is great at delivering you some extra detail at longer distances, but it does mean that your field of view is a little narrower than what you get on a lower powered instrument.
Also keep in mind that whilst the small 25mm lens makes sure that the overall size and weight of the monocular is kept to a minimum, it cannot collect as much light as larger lenses and thus this monocular is not intended for hue in low light conditions.
Further evidence of this can be seen with the small 2.5mm exit pupil that the 10x25 configuration creates. This small shaft of light is fine for use during the day and in good light conditions, but as the light gets worse and the pupil in your eye enlarges. This monocular will not be able to supply it with enough light for you to perceive a bright image.
Thus this Vortex Solo 10x25 is ideally used during the day in good light conditions and over longer distances in wide open spaces like which you can expect at the coast, in the hills or open plains.
