Made for extended ranges and to enable shooters to shoot accurately at great distances, the HS-LR (long range) series of scopes is a great choice for any hunter, but will be seen at shooting competitions as well. The minimum, 4x magnification still gives the option of hunting in more dense areas where the ranges are not as great as in the plains, but the 16x magnification will still compensate for that when you need that long range shot. With the XLR reticle which has been engineered for long range shooting, hitting the mark every time is a forgotten problem. Set at FFP it is a great help with its always matched subtentions and float dots. The scope comes with protected turrets for parallax and windage, while the elevation turret is opened for fast and easy dialing from medium to long ranges when you need to do so in a hunt.
The tube is machined out of a single piece of aircraft grade aluminum, sealed with o-rings and hard anodized. This will make it durable at any conditions, and will protect it from damp, sunlight, strikes and scratches. The scope is also water-tight and shock proof. The XD, low light dispersion lenses will provide a clear image and are coated with ArmotTek coating to prevent stains, scratches and to repel water, dust, oil and fingerprints. The scope is also Argon purged to prevent internal fogging.
The Viper HS-LR series of scopes does not come with reticle illumination. The large lenses will make up for that to some point, but due to the thin reticle crosses, these are less useful at night or dim light. Nonetheless, this will make them easier to use at long ranges.
The HS-LR come with capped windage turrets for greater protection, while the elevation turret is tactically open for fast distance correction. They have a side turret for parallax setting, a fast focus eyepiece and a MAG-view fiber optics for a clearly visible magnification option.
The reticle is set at the FFP so it always remains the same in relation to the target. The XLR-1 reticle itself is made for long ranges. Made in the MOA option, it features both wind drift and BDC dots and 1 MOA wind drift subtensions.
The click value is ¼ MOA per click for the windage and ½ MOA per click for elevation, and the maximum adjustment is 50 MOA for windage and 75 MOA for elevation.
All Vortex scopes come with a VIP warranty, which means that if anything goes wrong the Company will cover your scope. Your scope will be either repaired or replaced if it becomes defective, without any costs for you. You can also read more about our warranty policy here.
