Sightron S1 3-9x40 G2

• 3-9x40 configuration: The moderate magnification range covers typical stalking, woodland and general-purpose hunting distances, while the 40 mm objective keeps the scope trim enough for easy rifle handling.
• Second focal plane G2 reticle: The reticle stays the same visual size through the zoom range, so the sight picture remains familiar and uncluttered when moving from a wider view at 3x to more precise aiming at 9x.
• MC-333 multi-coatings: Sightron’s coated all-glass lens system helps maintain contrast and reduce flare, giving a clearer image in mixed light and making game easier to pick out against dark backgrounds.
• Capped hunting turrets: Low-profile capped adjustments protect the zero from accidental movement during transport or field use, which suits rifles carried through brush or used for everyday hunting.
• Lightweight 1-inch aluminum tube: The compact 25.4 mm tube and 386.00 g weight keep the rifle balanced, while nitrogen filling, fogproof construction and IPX-7 waterproofing support reliable use in wet and changing weather.

About the Sightron SI Hunter Series

The Sightron SI Hunter series was developed as a hunting-focused line built around practical field use rather than target-style complexity. The range included both hunting and Field Target configurations, showing that the platform was adapted for different shooting styles while keeping a straightforward optical layout and a 1-inch tube format common across the series. Within the hunting models, Sightron offered several reticle choices, including Duplex, Mil-Dot, Hunter Holdover, Crosshair and MOA-20, so users could choose between a traditional sight picture and more reference-heavy aiming patterns.

The series sits in the part of Sightron’s lineup aimed at shooters who want a conventional variable riflescope with familiar controls, sensible dimensions and reticle options suited to real field distances. Some variants in the family were specialized, such as the 3-9x32 RF rimfire model, while Field Target versions added adjustable-objective focus for close to long distances. That mix gave the series a broad role, from small-game and rimfire use to centerfire hunting. In character, the line emphasizes manageable size, uncomplicated operation and reticle choices that match common hunting rifles and traditional shooting positions.

About the Sightron S1 3-9x40 G2

The Sightron S1 3-9x40 G2 is a classic hunting riflescope built around a magnification range that remains useful across a wide spread of real shooting conditions. At 3x, it offers a broader view for moving through woodland, following game at shorter distances or making quick shots from improvised positions. At 9x, it provides the extra aiming precision needed for more deliberate shots in open ground. The 40.00 mm objective keeps the scope compact enough for easy mounting and comfortable rifle balance, while still supporting a bright, usable image for dawn and dusk hunting.

Sightron pairs this layout with fully multicoated lenses and its modern optical design approach to improve contrast and reduce distracting reflections. In practice, that helps the scope deliver a cleaner sight picture in uneven light, where shadows, branches and dark fur can otherwise blend together. The fast focus eyepiece also makes it easier to set the reticle sharply to the shooter’s eye, which speeds up target acquisition and reduces strain during longer sessions.

This model uses capped hunting turrets with 1/4 MOA click value, 15 MOA per turn and 70.00 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment. That setup favors dependable zero retention and straightforward sight-in rather than frequent dialing in the field. The fixed parallax setting at 91.44 m suits the distances where a 3-9x hunting scope is most often used. A 25.4 mm aircraft aluminum tube, nitrogen filling, fogproof construction, IPX-7 waterproofing and 1,000G-rated shock resistance complete a design intended for regular use on hunting rifles in changing weather and rough terrain.

About Sightron

Sightron was originally based in Miami, Florida, and later moved its headquarters to North Carolina. The company began with red-dot sights before expanding into hunting riflescopes and target scopes, and it also produces binoculars and spotting scopes. That background helps explain why its riflescope range covers both straightforward hunting models and more specialized precision optics.

A notable part of Sightron’s reputation in riflescopes is its use of Japanese manufacturing, along with proprietary features such as ExacTrack adjustment systems in several scope lines and Zact-7 Revcoat lens multicoating technology. Across the lineup, the brand is known for building optics for hunting and target shooting with an emphasis on repeatable mechanics, practical reticle choices and clear optical performance rather than overly complicated layouts.
