Schmidt & Bender 12-50x56 PM II/P Product description

Ultra-High Magnification Precision Scope: The Schmidt & Bender 12-50x56 PM II is a long-range riflescope tailored for precision disciplines such as F-Class, Benchrest, and long-distance target shooting where maximum magnification and optical clarity are critical.
Exceptional Optical Resolution: With a 56 mm objective lens and world-class German glass, the scope delivers crystal-clear images even at 50x magnification. Edge-to-edge clarity and minimal chromatic aberration make it ideal for identifying fine target details.
Reliable and Repeatable Turrets: Featuring Schmidt & Bender’s renowned target-style turrets, the 12-50x56 PM II provides precise and repeatable adjustments with tactile feedback — essential for competitive shooting.
Built for Static Precision Use: Though rugged in build, this model is intended primarily for static, prone, or benchrest shooting scenarios and is not designed for rapid turret manipulation or tactical field use.

ABOUT THE PM II SERIES

The PM II (Police Marksman II) series is Schmidt & Bender’s flagship line of professional-grade riflescopes. Widely adopted by military and law enforcement agencies worldwide, PM II scopes are known for their optical brilliance, mechanical precision, and exceptional durability.

While many PM II scopes are built for tactical environments, Schmidt & Bender also offers variants — like the 12-50x56 — specifically configured for competition and long-range accuracy-focused disciplines.

ABOUT THE MODEL (12-50x56 PM II)

The Schmidt & Bender 12-50x56 PM II is a first focal plane scope designed for extreme long-range target applications. Its 12x to 50x magnification range allows shooters to see even the smallest changes on paper targets or distant steel plates. Combined with a high-transmission 56 mm lens, it ensures a bright, sharp image in good lighting conditions.

The model is equipped with target turrets offering precise 0.05 MIL or 1/8 MOA clicks, depending on the version. Windage and elevation turrets are easy to manipulate and provide excellent feedback. A side parallax adjustment helps eliminate parallax error across the full magnification range.

Because of its ultra-high magnification, the scope features a narrow field of view and requires careful eye positioning — typical of scopes in this category. It excels on rifles used in benchrest, ELR, and prone F-Class competitions.

Schmidt & Bender 12-50x56 PM II/P

I bought Schmidt & Bender 12-50x56 PM II / P P4F reticle in the first focal plane, it has a superior quality. For me it is one of the best long range riflescopes!

Precise and accurate

Long range (F-class) shooting is my hobby for more than a decade and I never came across a scope that would track so precise and would be so easy to use. My pattern of buying a scope for a season or two and then changing it finally ended with this Schmidt & Bender. And I tried many of the new scope in the last 3 years but none of them matched or equalled my 12-50x56. Really happy :)

My pick

I shot mostly on competitions with ranges from 500 - 1000 meters and I tested extensively Nightforce, Kahles, March and Sightron scopes. At the end 12-50x56 PM II prevailed in my observations and I ordered one with Sport fine reticle and 1/8 MOA clicks. It is still not the perfect scope but I like it the most among all. It offer more comfort to my eye in longer periods of time, it has great resolution and the best turrets by far. I am always able to see in which turn I am and how many clicks was dialled. I already forgot how I suffered with other scope where I had to count every click and when I needed the same level of concentration when dialling in the elevation as when as was shooting.
