Nikko Stirling Air King 4-12x42

• Airgun-rated durability: The Air King 4-12x42 is built for the sharp forward and rearward recoil of spring-piston air rifles, helping the scope hold zero through repeated range sessions and field use.
• 4-12x variable magnification: The wide zoom range covers close-range pest control, general target shooting and more deliberate longer shots, so one riflescope can suit several airgun roles.
• Adjustable objective parallax: Front parallax adjustment from 9.1 m to infinity helps keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane, which is especially useful for airgun distances where small aiming errors matter.
• HMD reticle in second focal plane: The HMD reticle keeps a consistent apparent size across the magnification range, making the sight picture familiar and uncluttered as power is changed.
• Supplied 3/8 one-piece base mount: The included mount simplifies fitting to compatible air rifles and adds a practical ready-to-install advantage for shooters setting up a new scope.

About the Nikko Stirling Airking Series

The Nikko Stirling Airking series is designed specifically for airgun sport and airgun hunting, where recoil behavior differs from that of many rimfire and centerfire rifles. Spring-powered airguns can generate a sharp two-way recoil impulse, so the Airking line focuses on mechanical durability as well as useful short-range optical control. Across the series, Nikko Stirling equips these scopes with adjustable-objective parallax on the bell, starting at 10 yards and extending to infinity, which suits the closer distances common in airgun shooting.

The range includes both illuminated and non-illuminated models, all built around 1-inch tubes. Multicoated lenses, nitrogen filling and waterproof, shockproof construction are recurring features throughout the family, reflecting a practical design approach rather than a heavy tactical format. In the Nikko Stirling lineup, Airking models sit as dedicated airgun riflescopes for shooters who need reliable zero retention, straightforward controls and magnification options suited to target work, pest control and general field use. The series is shaped around real air rifle requirements: manageable size, clear aiming, and parallax adjustment that remains relevant at the distances where pellets are commonly used.

About the Nikko Stirling Air King 4-12x42

The Nikko Stirling Air King 4-12x42 is a versatile airgun riflescope that balances enough magnification for precise pellet placement with a field of view that still works well at ordinary hunting and target distances. At 4-12x magnification, it can be kept low for faster target acquisition or turned up when the shooter needs a more exact hold on small targets. The 42 mm objective lens gives the scope a useful compromise between image brightness and overall handling, avoiding the bulk of larger objectives while still providing a comfortable sight picture.

This model uses the HMD reticle in second focal plane, so the reticle stays visually consistent as magnification changes. That makes the image easy to read for shooters who prefer a familiar reticle size rather than one that grows or shrinks with zoom. The adjustable objective parallax, set from 9.1 m to infinity, is particularly important on an airgun scope because many shots are taken well inside typical centerfire distances; proper parallax correction helps reduce aiming error when precision matters.

Mechanically, the scope is configured with capped turrets and 1/4 MOA adjustments, a sensible arrangement for a rifle that is usually zeroed carefully and then carried in the field. The capped design protects the settings from accidental movement, while the multi-turn adjustment range gives enough latitude for normal setup. A 25.4 mm tube, nitrogen filling, multicoated lenses, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction complete a specification aimed at dependable everyday use on recoiling air rifles.

About Nikko Stirling

Nikko Stirling traces its beginnings to 1956, when it was established by Malcolm John Fuller. The brand focuses on sport optics for hunters and marksmen, with a product range that covers riflescopes, reflex sights, binoculars and laser rangefinders. Within its riflescope catalog, families such as Diamond Hunting, Diamond FFP, Metor, Panamax, Airking and Mountmaster show the company’s emphasis on serving different shooting disciplines with purpose-built optics rather than a single one-size-fits-all line.

That broad specialization is relevant here because the Airking series reflects a long-standing practical approach: matching scope design to the recoil pattern, distances and handling needs of airgun use. Nikko Stirling also offers products such as the NSLRF laser rangefinder range and the PRO-T5, PRO-T4 and XT4 reflex sights, underlining its established role in field and shooting optics.
