Meprolight is an Israeli company, founded in 1990. They offer includes day optical devices, night vision devices, thermal imaging devices, self-illuminated night sights, etc. Their products have been tested to withstand the harshest conditions imaginable, which is why they are popular with the military and law enforcement. The company complies with NATO and US military specifications as well as International MIL Standards.
Meprolight’s red dot sights are designed for rough use. They manufacture open reflex red dot sights which are compact, small and rugged, but they also provide more robust solutions for AR-platforms, namely the Mepro M5 and Mepro M21. All their red dot sights are rigorously tested before they are dispatched from the factory.
Mepro M21 is often referred to as the most durable red dot sight in the world. It was designed through close collaboration with Israeli special forces. When all other red dot sights fail, this robust device will continue to work. It is not powered by the battery. Instead, it works with the help of a fibre optic collector system during the day and a miniature self-powered tritium light source at night – it is always ready for action. The transition between the systems is instantaneous and automatic, providing an all-light aiming capability. Meprolight M21 is designed for an AR platform and meant to be used at close quarters. It can be paired with night vision goggles or scopes.
The device operates at 1x magnification, allowing for a rapid target acquisition with both eyes open. It is of the open reflex type but much bigger than most sights in this category. Blue tint can be seen when looking through the lens.
This 1x30mm reflex sight comes with a quick-detachable mount for a Picatinny platform. It can be zeroed with the help of elevation and windage turrets which are flush with the housing. Each click provides 1.7 MOA (0.5 MIL) of movement. The clicks are crisp and audible.
There are several models available, the only difference being in the reticle: 0.3 MOA Triangle, 4.3 MOA dot, 5.5 MOA dot, 2.2 MOA Bullseye, and Open X.
It comes with a neoprene cover, a brush and a lens cloth. It is made in Israel.
The product comes with 1 year of warranty on the housing and 10 years of warranty on the illumination. You can read more about the warranty policy here.
