Holosun DPS-TH

• Thermal overlay aiming system: The DPS-TH combines a pistol red dot with an integrated 256×192 thermal sensor, helping the shooter detect heat signatures in darkness, smoke, or visually cluttered backgrounds without adding a separate thermal device.
• Fast multi-reticle sight picture: Holosun’s 2 MOA dot and 32 MOA circle gives a choice between precise aiming and faster close-range acquisition, which is especially useful on a handgun where speed and sight clarity matter.
• 640×480 OLED display at 50 FPS: The high-resolution display keeps the thermal image smooth and readable during movement, making it easier to track targets and maintain awareness while presenting the pistol.
• 509T footprint compatibility: Built around the proven 509T footprint and supplied with a plate, the sight fits into established mounting ecosystems and simplifies integration on compatible pistol platforms.
• 7075-T6 aluminum housing with IP67 protection: The robust construction and sealed design support dependable use in rain, dust, and hard field conditions while keeping the optic compact enough for slide-mounted use.

About the Holosun DRS Series

The Holosun DRS series was introduced in 2023 as a family that merges a red-dot sight with digital imaging, giving shooters a single optic that can both aim and reveal what is difficult to see with the naked eye. In this line, Holosun applies the same fast sighting concept familiar from its reflex optics to devices that add either night-vision or thermal capability, depending on the model.

A defining trait of the series is its combination of a projected aiming reticle with an internal digital display, allowing the user to keep the handling and presentation of a red dot while gaining image-based target detection. The family includes the DRS-NV digital night-vision model and the DRS-TH thermal model, both built around Holosun’s Multi-Reticle System. Across the series, the design philosophy centers on practical field use: durable metal housings, sealed construction, and integrated recording functions rather than a separate clip-on or handheld device. That makes the DRS line particularly relevant to shooters who want a familiar optic format but need more information from the sight picture in low light, darkness, or visually complex environments.

About the Holosun DPS-TH

The Holosun DPS-TH is a thermal pistol sight that combines a slide-mounted red dot with an onboard thermal overlay, giving a handgun user a capability that is normally associated with larger dedicated thermal optics. Instead of replacing the fast handling of a reflex sight, it adds thermal information directly into the aiming view, which helps with target identification when ambient light is poor or when visual contrast is limited.

Its aiming system uses Holosun’s 2 MOA dot and 32 MOA circle in red illumination, so the sight can be configured either for more precise shot placement or for faster acquisition at defensive and short-range pistol distances. The optic is described as parallax free, and the 1/2 MOA click value gives practical zeroing control without overcomplicating adjustment on a compact handgun sight.

The thermal side of the DPS-TH is built around a 256×192 sensor with <50mK MRTD, a 640×480 OLED display, and a 50 FPS refresh rate. In practice, that means the sight is not just showing a heat source, but presenting it with enough smoothness and clarity to remain usable while moving, transitioning between targets, or shooting from improvised positions. Multiple viewing modes, including White Hot, Black Hot, Highlight, Edge Detection, and Fusion, let the image be adapted to the environment rather than forcing one display style in every condition.

Mechanically, the DPS-TH uses a 7075-T6 aluminum housing, IP67 protection, and the 509T footprint, which makes it relevant for serious pistol setups where durability and mounting compatibility matter as much as the imaging capability itself. Shake Awake further supports practical carry and readiness by conserving power when the sight is idle and reactivating it with motion.

About Holosun

Holosun is a California-headquartered optics company focused on sights, lasers, and illumination systems for shooting, hunting, law enforcement, and military use. The company says it has worked on optics and laser and infrared technologies since 2013, and its product history shows a steady expansion from compact reflex sights into broader electro-optic categories.

Its early development included the 403 Series in 2015, followed by products such as the 510C open reflex sight in 2016 and the 507C and 508T pistol sight families in 2017. Holosun is also known for proprietary features such as Shake Awake, Solar Failsafe, and the Multi-Reticle System, which have become familiar across much of its sight lineup. That background is relevant here because the DPS-TH applies Holosun’s established red-dot design experience to a more specialized thermal pistol optic format.
