The Hawke Airmax 30 SF Compact series is Hawke's shorter-format dedicated airgun scope range, built on a 30mm wide-angle chassis with side focus parallax and the proprietary AMX reticle calibrated for airgun pellet trajectories. Compared to the full-size Airmax 30 WA SF models, the Compact series delivers a more compact and lightweight package with a shorter eye relief of 76mm and a 3" sidewheel, while retaining the same 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses, SFP AMX IR reticle, 1/10 MRAD capped target turrets, and red-only illumination.

The series currently comprises two configurations: the 3-12x40 (art. no. 13200) — the most compact model in the Airmax 30 SF range overall — and the 6-24x50 (art. no. 13220) for shooters who require higher maximum magnification in the same compact format.

The Hawke Airmax 30 SF Compact 3-12x40 AMX IR is the lower-magnification and most compact model in the Airmax 30 SF Compact series, designed for airgun hunters, HFT shooters, and competition airgunners who prioritise a short, lightweight optic with a wide field of view and close-range parallax correction. The 3–12× magnification range with a 4× zoom ratio starts from a low 3×, delivering an exceptional field of view of 14.6 metres at 100 metres — wide enough for fast target identification and close-range situational awareness before increasing power for precision shots.

The 40mm objective lens, combined with the wide-angle 30mm chassis and 16-layer fully multi-coated lenses, delivers high light transmission and a clear image across the magnification range. An exit pupil of 13.3 mm at 3× supports a bright, accessible sight picture at minimum power in variable outdoor light. The 76mm of eye relief requires appropriate mounting height consideration for the specific air rifle platform.

The SFP AMX IR reticle provides airgun-calibrated holdover marks with a consistent reticle size at all magnification settings, illuminated in red with 6 brightness levels and off positions between each step.
