Element Optics Iris 4-12x44

• Classic 4-12x hunting range: The 4-12x magnification span covers fast shots at shorter distances and gives extra precision for small targets or careful placement farther out.
• 44 mm objective with fully multi-coated lenses: This combination helps maintain a bright, clear sight picture in the first and last light periods when hunting opportunities often appear.
• RAPTR-1S BDC reticle in SFP: The second focal plane layout keeps the reticle visually consistent as magnification changes, making the aiming picture familiar and uncluttered.
• Capped, resettable turrets: Protected turrets are well suited to field rifles because they resist accidental movement during carry, while still allowing straightforward zeroing.
• Lightweight 1-inch build: At 456.00 g with a 25.4 mm tube, the scope keeps rifle handling balanced and allows low-profile mounting on many classic hunting setups.

About the Element Optics Iris Series

The Element Optics Iris series sits in the brand’s hunting-focused riflescope range as a straightforward, traditional option for shooters who want practical field performance without unnecessary bulk. Element currently offers the series in 3-9x40 and 4-12x44 configurations, both built around a 1-inch main tube and intended for common hunting use such as driven hunts, stalking, hunting from blinds, and other close-to-intermediate-range applications. The series follows a simple design philosophy: keep the scope compact, keep the controls familiar, and keep the optical system easy to live with on a working rifle.

Across the range, the Iris family uses aircraft-grade one-piece tubes, fully multi-coated lenses, and a sealed construction that is waterproof, fogproof, shockproof, and nitrogen purged. Both models use second focal plane reticles, which suit hunters who prefer a stable reticle appearance through the zoom range. The line also shares capped, resettable turrets, emphasizing reliability in the field over exposed dialing systems. Within the series, reticle choices are matched to the model, with the 3-9x40 offered with a Duplex reticle and the 4-12x44 configured with the RAPTR-1S BDC reticle.

About the Element Optics Iris 4-12x44

The Element Optics Iris 4-12x44 is the higher-magnification model in the Iris family, built for hunters who want a little more reach and aiming precision while keeping the familiar proportions of a classic hunting riflescope. Its 4-12x magnification range works well on stalking rifles, rimfire setups, and general-purpose hunting rifles where shots may vary from short woodland distances to more open ground. The 44.00 mm objective supports a bright, usable image without forcing an overly high mounting position, which helps preserve a natural cheek weld.

This model uses the RAPTR-1S BDC reticle in the second focal plane. In practice, that gives the shooter a reticle that remains visually fine and familiar as magnification changes, which many hunters prefer for fast target acquisition and a clean sight picture. The fixed 100 m parallax also suits the scope’s intended role by keeping operation simple in the field. For adjustment, the scope uses capped, resettable turrets with 1/4 MOA clicks and 12 MOA per revolution, combining secure carry with enough adjustment for normal zeroing and trajectory correction. With 65.00 MOA of elevation and windage travel, it offers practical flexibility for common sporting rifles.

The mechanical layout is equally field-oriented. A 25.4 mm one-piece tube, 337.00 mm overall length, and 456.00 g weight keep the scope trim and easy to mount. Nitrogen filling, waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction help it stay dependable through changing weather, vehicle transport, and regular hunting use.

About Element Optics

Element Optics AB is based in Mariestad, Sweden, and develops riflescopes, electro-optics, and shooting accessories for sporting, hunting, and competition use with both airguns and firearms. The company began work on its first riflescope, the Nexus, in 2018, and its design team includes members from Sweden, South Africa, and the United States. That international background is reflected in a product range shaped around practical use across different shooting disciplines.

Today, Element Optics offers riflescope families including Helix, Titan, Nexus, and Theos, alongside products such as rangefinders and binoculars. In this category, the brand is known for combining modern reticle design, durable mechanical construction, and user-focused features intended for real field and range conditions rather than purely benchrest use.
