Bushnell Banner 2 4-12x40

• 4-12x magnification range: Covers the practical middle ground for stalking, woodland edges and open-field shots, giving a wider view at 4x and the extra precision needed for smaller targets or longer distances at 12x.
• 40 mm objective lens: Balances light gathering with a trim hunting profile, helping the scope stay manageable on a field rifle while still delivering a bright image in the low-light periods when game is often active.
• Adjustable parallax from 9,14 m to inf.: Lets the image and reticle stay properly aligned at varying distances, which helps reduce aiming error and makes the scope more useful for both shorter-range practice and longer hunting shots.
• Capped hunting turrets: Protect the adjustments from accidental movement while carrying the rifle through brush, in a vehicle or in a case, so the zero is less likely to shift between shots and outings.
• IPX-7 waterproof, nitrogen-filled construction: Supports reliable use in wet weather and changing temperatures by resisting water ingress and internal fogging, which matters when conditions turn cold, damp or unpredictable.

About the Bushnell Banner 2 Series

Bushnell Banner 2 is a hunting-focused riflescope series built around practical field use rather than specialist competition features. The line sits as an accessible option in the Bushnell range for shooters who want dependable magnification ranges, straightforward controls and a scope format that suits common hunting rifles. A defining trait of the series is its use of second-focal-plane reticles, which keep the reticle appearance consistent through the zoom range and give hunters a familiar sight picture at any magnification.

Across the series, multi-coated optics and waterproof construction are central features, with selected Banner 2 Dusk & Dawn models aimed at low-light hunting where image brightness and contrast matter most around first and last light. The family includes versions with the DOA Quick Ballistic reticle for holdover references at extended distances, alongside illuminated and non-illuminated variants to suit different hunting styles and terrain. Bushnell also offers an extended-eye-relief option within the series, showing that Banner 2 is designed to cover a broad spread of real hunting applications, from general stalking rifles to setups that need more flexibility in mounting position and shooting posture.

About the Bushnell Banner 2 4-12x40

The Bushnell Banner 2 4-12x40 is a versatile hunting riflescope built for shooters who need one optic to cover mixed distances. Its 4-12x magnification range makes sense on a stalking or general-purpose hunting rifle: 4x remains usable for closer opportunities and scanning, while 12x gives the extra aiming precision needed for careful shot placement at longer ranges. The 40.00 mm objective lens keeps the scope compact enough for practical field carry, while still supporting a bright, usable image in the lower-light periods that matter most in hunting.

This model is especially useful where shot distances vary, because it combines that zoom range with parallax adjustment from 9,14 m to inf.. That adds flexibility for range work, vermin control and hunting situations where targets may appear much closer or farther away than expected. The field of view, from 9.00 m/100m down to 3.00 m/100m, reflects that dual role by giving a broader picture at low power and a more concentrated sight picture at high power.

Mechanically, the scope follows a straightforward hunting layout with capped turrets, no locking system and no zero stop, prioritizing protection and simplicity over frequent dialing. A 25.4 mm tube keeps mounting options broad on rifles set up for 1 inch optics. Bushnell pairs this with a nitrogen-filled, fogproof and shockproof build, plus IPX-7 waterproofing, so the scope is suited to wet weather, rough transport and regular field use without adding unnecessary bulk at 505.00 g.

About Bushnell

Bushnell was founded in 1948 by Dave Bushnell. He began selling optical products from a photographic shop in Pasadena, California, and the company grew into a well-known name in sports optics and outdoor equipment. Bushnell focuses on products for hunting, target shooting, birding and nature observation, with a catalogue that includes binoculars, riflescopes, red dot sights, rangefinders, spotting scopes and trail cameras.

Within shooting optics, Bushnell is known for offering several distinct product families, including Legend, Prime, Elite Tactical and AR Optics, covering everything from general field use to more specialized tactical and precision roles. The company also developed EXO Barrier, a protective lens coating designed to repel water, oil, dust and debris. Bushnell became part of a larger outdoor-products group when ATK acquired Bushnell Group Holdings on November 1, 2013, but the brand remains closely associated with practical, field-oriented optics for hunters and recreational shooters.
