Thompson Center Composite Forend for Contender Pistol, For 12" Hunter & 14" Barrels

• Contender pistol fit: Built for 12" Hunter and 14" barrels, this forend gives the Contender pistol the correct front-end interface for a secure, properly matched installation.
• Composite construction: The composite body keeps weight practical and resists the knocks, moisture, and routine wear that field handguns and hunting setups often see.
• Improved handling: A dedicated forend gives the support hand a more consistent gripping surface, helping the pistol feel steadier during aiming, carrying, and bench work.
• Factory-style replacement: This Thompson Center accessory is intended as a direct-style solution for restoring a worn forend or completing a compatible barrel and frame combination.
• Made for interchangeable systems: On Contender platforms, correct furniture matters; using the proper forend helps maintain the clean fit and modular practicality that make these single-shot systems so useful.

About the Thompson Center Accessories Series

Thompson Center Accessories covers practical support gear for hunters and outdoor shooters rather than a single narrowly defined product family. The series includes items intended for field carry, firearm transport, and day-to-day use around hunting setups, with products arranged by application categories such as slings and ammunition carriers. That broad approach makes the line a natural fit for owners who use Thompson Center platforms in the field and want accessories that match the brand’s straightforward, utilitarian design philosophy.

Within the wider range, the emphasis is on functional outdoor use. Some products support carrying firearms or binoculars more comfortably over long walks, while others are aimed at keeping essential gear close at hand during a hunt. The common thread is that these accessories are built for users who value simple installation, dependable materials, and compatibility with established Thompson Center firearms. In that context, a component such as a composite forend belongs to the same practical ecosystem: it is not decorative, but a working part that helps tailor a firearm to a specific barrel configuration and intended use.

About the Thompson Center Composite Forend for Contender Pistol, For 12" Hunter & 14" Barrels

The Thompson Center Composite Forend for Contender Pistol is a purpose-specific accessory for shooters running a Contender pistol with 12" Hunter or 14" barrels. On interchangeable single-shot platforms, the forend is more than a cosmetic panel: it is the part that completes the front of the handgun, provides the support-hand contact area, and ensures the barrel assembly is matched with the correct furniture. Choosing the proper forend matters because Contender barrel configurations are not all set up the same way.

The use of composite construction makes this model a practical choice for hunting and general field use. Composite material stands up well to routine bumps, changing weather, and repeated handling, while keeping the pistol from gaining unnecessary front-end weight. That balance is especially useful on scoped hunting pistols, where stable support is important but excess bulk can make the firearm slower to carry and position.

In use, this forend helps give the pistol a cleaner, more controlled feel. It creates a defined gripping surface for offhand shooting and a consistent contact point when the handgun is rested on bags or other support. For owners restoring an older Contender, replacing damaged furniture, or assembling a barrel-specific setup, this Thompson Center forend is a straightforward way to keep the pistol correctly configured for its intended barrel length and role.

About Thompson Center

Thompson/Center Arms traces its firearms business to 1967 and is based in Rochester, New Hampshire, United States. The company built its reputation around firearms for hunters, shooters, and outdoor users, with historical product areas that include muzzleloaders, black-powder accessories, interchangeable firearm systems, and precision rimfire rifles. That background is especially relevant to products like Contender and Encore accessories, where correct fit between barrels, stocks, grips, and forends is part of the platform’s appeal.

The brand is also known for firearm lines such as the T/C Encore and Triumph. Smith & Wesson completed its acquisition of Thompson/Center Arms on January 4, 2007, later announced plans to divest the brand on May 3, 2021, and Gregg Ritz acquired Thompson/Center Arms in 2024. Across those ownership changes, Thompson Center has remained closely associated with practical hunting firearms and modular single-shot designs.
