ABOUT THE THERMTEC VENTUS SERIES

The ThermTec Ventus series is ThermTec's line of multi-spectrum binoculars, designed for users who want thermal detection, digital day and night observation and distance measurement in a single handheld device. Instead of carrying a thermal monocular, a night vision device and a separate rangefinder, the observer can scan, identify and range a target with one instrument.

Each Ventus model combines a thermal imaging channel with a sensor rated at NETD <15 mK, a high-resolution 4K digital CMOS channel for daylight and night use, switchable 850 nm / 940 nm IR illumination and a Class 1 laser rangefinder with a range of 1000 m. The thermal and digital channels use separate objective lenses, so the user can switch between them depending on light conditions and the task at hand – thermal imaging for detecting heat signatures, the digital channel for recognising fine details.

The series is offered with different thermal sensor resolutions (384×288 and 640×512) and thermal objectives, allowing users to choose between a wider field of view for scanning at close and medium range or higher magnification for longer distances. All models share an AMOLED display with 1600×1200 resolution, ThermTec AI Calibration, a rubber-coated body with adjustable interpupillary distance, replaceable 18650 batteries and IP67 protection. Typical applications include night hunting, wildlife observation, rescue operations, hiking and general day and night observation.

ABOUT THE MODEL (THERMTEC VENTUS 335L)

The ThermTec Ventus 335L is the Ventus model with a 384×288 thermal sensor (12 μm pixel pitch, NETD <15 mK) behind a fast 35 mm F0.8 objective. The wide thermal field of view of 7.5°×5.6° (13.2×9.9 m at 100 m) makes it well suited to scanning fields, forest edges and open terrain at close and medium distances, while the detection range reaches 1800 m. Thermal magnification runs from 4.3× to 17.2× with 4× digital zoom, and ThermTec's AI Zoom technology is designed to preserve detail in the thermal image when zooming in.

The digital channel uses a 4K UHD sensor with 3840×2160 resolution and a 50 mm F1.4 objective, offering 5×–30× magnification (6× digital zoom). In daylight it is used for detailed target identification; at night, the switchable IR illuminator provides a viewing range of up to 400 m at 850 nm or 350 m at 940 nm. EIS helps keep the image steady at higher magnifications, and the Hybrid PIP (picture-in-picture) display mode adds a second view within the main image for more flexible observation.

The integrated laser rangefinder measures distances up to 1000 m with ±1 m accuracy, while the digital magnetic compass and azimuth display show the direction of the observed target. Photos and videos with audio are stored on 64 GB of internal memory, and the built-in hotspot connects the binocular to ThermTec's all-in-one service and support app.

Ergonomically, the Ventus 335L allows both focus wheels to be operated with one hand, and the anti-slip, rubber-coated frame provides a secure grip. The eyepieces adjust from 60 to 72 mm with ±5 D diopter correction. Two replaceable 18650 batteries provide up to 7 hours of operation, and a proximity sensor automatically switches the display off when the binocular is moved away from the eyes to save energy. The housing is rated IP67, operates from -20 °C to +50 °C and weighs 825 g.
