Safariland 5198 Open Top Paddle and Belt Loop Holster for P365 3.10" BBL STXTAC

• ALS retention with open-top access: The internal ALS (Automatic Locking System) secures the pistol as it is holstered, then releases with a natural thumb movement for a fast draw without adding a top strap.
• Paddle and belt loop included: The holster ships with both a paddle and a belt loop, giving the user two carry setups for range use, training, or everyday OWB wear.
• Low-cut profile for a cleaner draw: The open-top, low-side design reduces interference around the grip, which helps speed presentation and makes repeated practice more comfortable.
• Durable polymer construction: The polymer body stands up well to regular carry and training use while keeping the holster rigid enough for consistent reholstering.
• OWB carry with secure fit: Built as an outside-the-waistband belt holster, it offers stable carry for the SIG Sauer P365 with 3.10" barrel while keeping the handgun accessible.

About the Safariland Accessories Series

Safariland Accessories covers a broad range of carry solutions built around the company’s practical approach to handgun retention, mounting flexibility, and daily durability. Within this family, Safariland offers holsters for duty, tactical, concealment, and everyday carry roles, with designs that range from simple open-top models to more security-focused systems. A defining characteristic across the lineup is the use of proven retention concepts such as ALS and related Safariland locking systems, which are designed to keep the pistol secure while preserving a natural draw stroke.

In use, the series is aimed at shooters who want equipment that balances speed, security, and repeatable handling. Depending on the model, the range includes paddle, belt loop, and other mounting formats to suit different carry positions and training needs. The design philosophy is straightforward: rigid construction for dependable holstering, stable belt attachment, and controls that can be operated instinctively under stress. That makes the series relevant not only for professional users, but also for range shooters and concealed-carry users who want a holster that behaves consistently through frequent practice.

About the Safariland 5198 Open Top Paddle and Belt Loop Holster for P365 3.10" BBL STXTAC

The Safariland 5198 is a compact OWB holster configured for the SIG Sauer P365 with 3.10" barrel, combining a fast open-top draw with the added security of Safariland’s ALS retention system. That combination makes it well suited to shooters who want quicker access than a strap-secured holster, but still want the pistol positively locked in place during movement. The ALS release is operated by the thumb as the firing grip is established, so the draw remains direct and repeatable rather than requiring a separate, awkward motion.

This model also stands out for its flexible carry hardware. With both a belt clip and a paddle attachment, the holster can be set up for different routines without changing to a different body. A paddle can be convenient for easy on-and-off use, while a belt loop generally gives a more anchored feel on the belt. The polymer construction keeps the holster rigid for smooth one-handed reholstering and resists the wear that comes with regular training. At 320.00 g and 150.00 mm in length, it remains manageable on the belt while still providing the structure expected from a hard-shaped holster. For users who prefer outside-the-waistband carry and want a secure, uncomplicated platform for the P365, the 5198 focuses on practical retention, clean access, and adaptable mounting.

About Safariland

Safariland was established in 1964 by Neale Perkins, who began the business in Sierra Madre, California. The company developed its reputation around protective and mission-oriented equipment, with a product range that includes holsters, armor, accessories, and communications equipment. Today, The Safariland Group is headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida and serves law enforcement, military, fire and rescue, competitive shooting, and everyday carry markets.

In the holster category, Safariland is especially known for retention systems that are designed to secure the handgun without making the draw unnecessarily complex. One of the most important examples is the ALS system, which uses an internal lock released by a thumb lever. That approach has made Safariland a common choice for users who need a balance of weapon security, speed, and consistent handling under regular training or professional use.
