Rusan Screw for bases UNS 6-48 (L=5.3 mm) Product description

  • UNS 6-48 thread format: built for base mounting applications that use the common 6-48 screw pattern, helping maintain proper fit and secure attachment between the base and the firearm.
  • 5.3 mm length: the short screw length suits mounting points where thread depth is limited, reducing the risk of bottoming out while still providing reliable engagement.
  • Accessory for mounts: intended specifically for scope-mount work, making it a practical spare part for repairs, replacement of worn screws, or completing a mounting setup.
  • Black finish: the dark surface blends neatly with most bases and mounts while also being less visually distracting on a working rifle.
  • Rusan-made component: produced by a manufacturer focused on mounts, rails, rings, and adapter systems, which is important when small hardware must match the tolerances of the mounting system.

About the Rusan Accessories Series

Rusan Accessories covers the supporting parts that keep the company’s mounting and adapter systems working as intended. The series is closely tied to Rusan-Mikron’s scope-mount and adapter expertise, and it includes not only complete mounting solutions but also the smaller components, spare parts, and add-on pieces needed for maintenance, replacement, and system changes. A key part of the range is its support for night-vision and thermal clip-on devices, with adapters and reduction rings designed to connect optics securely and repeatably.

The series also reflects Rusan’s broader approach to modularity. Alongside conventional adapter systems, the company developed a modular adapter concept that allows one clip-on device to be shared across multiple rifles or matched with different riflescopes more efficiently. Within that wider ecosystem, small hardware items such as screws, rings, and adapter parts matter because they help preserve fit, alignment, and dependable attachment. That makes the Rusan Accessories line relevant not only to hunters using thermal imaging equipment, but also to shooters who need replacement mounting parts that match the dimensions and purpose of the original system.

About the Rusan Screw for bases UNS 6-48 (L=5.3 mm)

The Rusan Screw for bases UNS 6-48 (L=5.3 mm) is a dedicated mounting accessory for base installation and replacement work. Its role is straightforward but important: a correctly sized screw helps a scope base sit securely and evenly, which is essential for maintaining alignment in any riflescope mounting setup. With its UNS 6-48 thread, this screw suits base interfaces built around that thread standard, while the 5.3 mm length makes it appropriate where a compact screw is needed to match shallow mounting points.

In practice, this type of component is useful both as a replacement for damaged or worn hardware and as a spare kept on hand for workshop or field maintenance. A screw that matches the intended thread and length helps avoid common fitting problems such as poor thread engagement or excess screw depth. The black finish gives it a discreet appearance that blends with most mounting systems, while its purpose-built design for mount applications keeps it relevant to shooters assembling or servicing bases, rails, and related optic-mounting hardware.

Although small, this part supports the overall reliability of the mounting system. In precision shooting and hunting optics, the base hardware is part of the foundation for repeatable optic positioning, so using the proper screw dimensions is just as important as choosing the correct base or ring set.

About Rusan

Rusan-Mikron is a Croatian manufacturer based in Marija Bistrica, with roots in the Rusan family’s metalworking business dating back to 1983. Željko Rusan opened a gunsmith shop in 1986, and the company began producing scope mounts in 1993. That background explains why Rusan remains closely associated with mounting solutions and firearm-related precision parts.

The company’s range includes scope mounts, scope rings, Picatinny rails, and firearm tuning products, along with adapter systems for night-vision and thermal devices. Rusan is also known for its clip-on sight adapter clamp, introduced in 2009, and for developing products that connect modern electro-optics to sporting and hunting rifles in a practical way. This combination of gunsmithing roots and specialized mount production gives the brand a strong focus on fit, machining accuracy, and compatibility across different rifle platforms.

Dear Sirs,

I would like to know, please, if the screws ‘Rusan Screw for bases UNS 6-48 (L=5.3 mm)’ are compatible with the Rusan 010-62 rail, and how many screws come in the package?

Kind Regards,

Fernando Velez

by Fernando Velez

Dear Sir!

The receiver threads where the Rusan 010-62 rail fits are typically #6-48 (UNC thread), so we believe they should be compatible. However, as we do not currently have the Rusan 010-62 rail in stock, we cannot confirm compatibility 100%.

The package contains one screw.

Hello, I want to replace the screws of my picatinny rail on my savage 300f. These seem to be 6-48 screws compared to what your article explains because the screw is about 3.5mm thick. I measured a total length of 5.5mm in length with the head (which is countersunk hexagonal 6-sided but I think it is for American keys, because my hexagon keys do not match). I think I count 6 turns on the length of the screw. I attach photos of the screw. Do you think your screw is compatible?
