Rix Optics Storm S3R

• Integrated laser rangefinder: The built-in 1200.00 m rangefinder gives fast distance confirmation without adding a separate device, which helps when shots need to be taken quickly in the dark.
• 384x288 thermal sensor: The 12.00 μm VOx sensor with 25.00 mK sensitivity shows stronger target-to-background separation, making animals easier to identify in rain, humidity, or cluttered terrain.
• Compact 3.5x thermal scope: With a fixed 3.50 x base magnification and a short 135.00 mm body, the scope suits rifles that need a thermal optic with useful reach but restrained bulk.
• AMOLED display and onboard recording: The 1024×768 AMOLED screen presents a clear viewing image, while photo and video recording let users document sightings, zeroing sessions, and shot placement.
• Field-ready construction: Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction supports dependable use in changing weather, while WiFi connectivity adds convenient image sharing and app-based functions.

About the Rix Optics Storm Series

RIX positions the STORM series as a compact, versatile family of thermal imaging riflescopes built for hunters who want thermal capability without the size and weight of larger dedicated systems. Within the company’s lineup, STORM sits in the thermal riflescope segment and covers several configurations, including S2, S3, and S6 models as well as rangefinder-equipped R variants. That structure gives users a choice between different sensor classes and feature sets while keeping the same general handling concept.

The series is aimed at hog, predator, and varmint hunting, where quick target acquisition, reliable thermal contrast, and practical field portability matter more than unnecessary bulk. RIX offers 256×192, 384×288, and 640×512 sensor options across the STORM range, allowing buyers to balance image detail, detection capability, and budget. Select models include an integrated laser rangefinder, and R-designated versions add ballistic-calculator capability, making them especially relevant for hunters who need more precise hold decisions at night. Across the series, the design emphasis remains on a compact thermal riflescope format with straightforward controls and hunting-oriented functionality.

About the Rix Optics Storm S3R

The Rix Optics Storm S3R is a thermal riflescope built for hunters who want more reach and more precise distance information in a compact package. Its 3.50 x base magnification gives a tighter, more deliberate view than lower-magnification thermal optics, which is useful when engaging predators or hogs at moderate distances where target definition and shot placement matter. Paired with a 35.00 mm F 1.0 objective lens, the scope gathers thermal energy efficiently, helping the sensor present a stronger image in difficult night conditions.

At the core of the optic is a 384x288 VOx uncooled sensor with 12.00 μm pixel pitch, 25.00 mK sensitivity, and a 50.00 Hz refresh rate. In practical use, that means smoother motion rendering when scanning moving animals and better separation between game and background when temperature differences are subtle. The stated 1800.00 m detection range extends its usefulness well beyond close-range observation, while the built-in 1200.00 m laser rangefinder adds a concrete distance reading that supports more confident hold decisions.

The viewing experience is supported by a 1024×768 AMOLED display, which provides a crisp image with good apparent contrast, and the 48.00 mm eye relief helps maintain comfortable head position on a rifle. WiFi connectivity, image capture, video recording, and video output make the Storm S3R practical not only for hunting but also for reviewing footage, sharing observations, and documenting zero or field performance. With a weight of 454.00 g and a compact housing, it remains easy to mount on rifles that benefit from a lighter thermal setup.

About Rix Optics

RIX Optics is based in Richardson, Texas, United States, and focuses on the design and manufacture of thermal-imaging and night-vision optics. Its catalog covers several adjacent categories, including thermal riflescopes, thermal monoculars, and digital day-and-night-vision scopes, which gives the brand a concentrated presence in electro-optics rather than a broad general sporting-goods range.

Within that lineup, RIX organizes products into distinct families for different uses. The LEAP series includes thermal riflescopes with continuous optical zoom and integrated laser rangefinders, while the STRIDE, TITAN, and POCKET lines cover handheld thermal observation with different sensor classes and feature sets. This product structure shows a clear emphasis on practical thermal and night-vision tools for hunting and field use, with compact formats and model variations that let users choose between simpler observation devices and more feature-rich aiming systems.
