Rix Optics Leap L6R

• 640x480 thermal sensor: The higher-resolution sensor gives the Rix Optics Leap L6R a more detailed image for identifying animals, reading terrain, and making cleaner shot decisions at longer distances.
• Integrated laser rangefinder and ballistic software: Built-in ranging to 1200.00 m with +/- 1 m accuracy helps shorten the time between spotting, measuring, and holding for the shot.
• Continuous optical zoom: The 2.80 x to 8.40 x magnification range lets the scope move from wider-area scanning to more precise target work without changing devices.
• High-spec display: A 1920x1080 AMOLED display presents the thermal image with strong contrast and a clear sight picture, which helps when observing detail in darkness or poor weather.
• Field-ready construction: Waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof construction, plus operation from -20°C to +50°C, makes the scope suitable for hunting use in changing outdoor conditions.

About the Rix Optics Leap Series

Rix Optics Leap is the brand’s primary thermal riflescope series, built around continuous optical zoom rather than fixed base magnification. That gives the series a clear role in the lineup: it is intended for users who want a thermal hunting optic that can move smoothly between scanning, observation, and shot placement without the abrupt steps of digital-only zoom. RIX positions the series for night hunting, observation, and geographical positioning, and the current family includes the L3R, L6R, and L12R models.

Across the series, the main differences are sensor class and feature level, with current models covering 384×288, 640×480, and 1280×1024 thermal resolutions. The L3R and L6R versions add a lens-integrated laser rangefinder and a ballistic calculator, making them especially relevant for hunters who want distance data built directly into the riflescope. The series design focuses on combining thermal detection capability with practical shooting features, including multiple reticles, onboard recording, wireless connectivity, and a housing format that fits conventional rifle mounting setups.

About the Rix Optics Leap L6R

Rix Optics Leap L6R is a thermal riflescope for hunters who need more image detail than entry-level thermal units while still keeping an integrated ranging system on the rifle. Its 640x480 VOx uncooled sensor, 12.00 μm pixel pitch, and 20.00 mK NETD work together to improve target separation and make subtle heat differences easier to read. In practice, that helps when animals are partly obscured by vegetation, when backgrounds are thermally busy, or when weather reduces contrast. A 50.00 Hz refresh rate also supports a smoother image when tracking moving game.

The scope combines a 2.80 x to 8.40 x magnification range with a 50.00 mm objective lens and a stated 2600.00 m detection range, giving it the flexibility to cover both wider observation and more deliberate shot placement. Its 1920x1080 AMOLED display keeps the image crisp in the eyepiece, while the -5D to +5D diopter range helps adapt the sight picture to the shooter’s eyesight. For aiming, the scope provides 9 reticles, allowing the setup to be matched to different preferences and shooting tasks.

What sets the Leap L6R apart within thermal hunting optics is the built-in ranging package. The integrated laser rangefinder reaches 1200.00 m with +/- 1 m accuracy, and the ballistic software helps turn that distance data into a more usable aiming solution. Recording functions for still images and video, plus WiFi connectivity, make it easier to document hunts or transfer footage. Despite this feature set, the scope remains a single rifle-mounted unit with a conventional form factor, measuring 360.70 mm long and weighing 1225.00 g.

About Rix Optics

RIX Optics is based in Richardson, Texas, United States, and focuses on the design and manufacture of thermal-imaging and night-vision optics. Its catalog covers thermal riflescopes, thermal monoculars, and digital day-and-night-vision scopes, showing a clear specialization in electro-optics rather than conventional sporting optics alone. Within that range, RIX organizes products into distinct families such as LEAP, STORM, POCKET, STRIDE, and TITAN, each aimed at different uses and sensor classes.

For this category, the company is particularly associated with thermal hunting optics that combine practical field features such as continuous optical zoom, integrated laser rangefinders, and ballistic functions. The LEAP series reflects that approach directly, while other lines extend the same thermal-imaging focus into handheld observation and digital day-and-night applications. This concentration on thermal and night-vision devices gives RIX Optics a product range built around low-light detection, target observation, and rifle-mounted use.
