Pentax DCF BC 9x32 Product description

  • 9x32 configuration: The 9x magnification gives a little more reach than common 8x binoculars while the 32 mm objectives keep the binocular compact enough for hiking, travel, and all-day carry.
  • Roof prism design with open-bridge body: The slim Schmidt/Pechan roof-prism layout and open-bridge shape make the binocular easier to grip securely and more convenient to pack in a small bag or jacket pocket.
  • Fully multicoated optics: Full multicoating helps preserve brightness and contrast, which is especially useful when scanning woodland edges, following birds against mixed backgrounds, or glassing in overcast light.
  • 16.00 mm eye relief: The generous eye relief improves comfort for eyeglass wearers and makes it easier to see the full field of view without constant repositioning.
  • Waterproof, fogproof nitrogen-filled construction: A sealed, nitrogen-filled housing resists internal fogging and handles wet weather, so the binocular remains dependable when conditions change in the field.

About the Pentax DCF BC Series

The Pentax DCF BC series sits in the compact, practical part of the Pentax binocular range, aimed at users who want a portable roof-prism binocular for general outdoor observation rather than a large specialist instrument. Models in this series are built for activities such as hiking, bird watching, travel, and everyday field use, where moderate size and low weight matter as much as optical reach.

A defining trait of the series is its use of Schmidt/Pechan roof prisms in a slim body that is easier to carry than traditional porro-prism binoculars. Pentax also equips the series with fully multicoated optics to support good contrast and useful image brightness in varied daylight conditions. The mechanical design focuses on straightforward handling, with central focusing, right-eyepiece diopter adjustment, and a compact chassis that suits active use. Waterproof and fogproof construction adds the kind of durability expected from binoculars intended for changing weather and regular outdoor use. In practice, the DCF BC line is for users who value balanced magnification, manageable dimensions, and dependable field handling in a binocular that remains easy to take along.

About the Pentax DCF BC 9x32

The Pentax DCF BC 9x32 is a compact binocular that balances extra reach with easy portability. Its 9x magnification gives a slightly closer view than an 8x model, which is useful when identifying birds at medium distance, checking detail on game, or scanning open ground from a trail. At the same time, the 32.00 mm objective lenses keep the body smaller and lighter than full-size binoculars, making this model well suited to users who carry optics for long periods.

The optical layout combines a roof prism system with fully multicoated lenses, helping the binocular deliver a clean, contrast-rich image in normal daylight use. A 117.00 m/1000m field of view is wide enough for tracking moving subjects without making the image feel cramped, while the 2.50 m close focus is practical for nearby observation on walks and in woodland. The 3.56 mm exit pupil supports comfortable daytime viewing, and the 16.00 mm eye relief makes the binocular more accommodating for eyeglass wearers.

Mechanically, the open-bridge body improves grip and one-handed handling, especially when moving frequently between observation points. Central focusing allows quick adjustment, while the right-eyepiece diopter adjustment helps fine-tune the image to the user’s eyesight. With a 500.00 g weight and waterproof, fogproof, nitrogen-filled construction, this Pentax binocular is easy to carry and dependable for hiking, bird watching, and general hunting optics use in variable weather.

About Pentax

Pentax traces its history to Asahi Optical Joint Stock Co., which was founded in 1919 in Otsuka, Tokyo. The brand began as an optical manufacturer producing eyeglass lenses and binoculars, and that background still shows in its long-standing focus on practical optical equipment. Pentax products today include binoculars, cameras, and interchangeable camera lenses, reflecting a broad presence across consumer and enthusiast imaging categories.

Pentax camera and binocular products are manufactured and marketed by Ricoh Imaging Company, Ltd. After Asahi Optical Co., Ltd. merged with HOYA Corporation in March 2008, Ricoh acquired HOYA’s imaging-system businesses, including cameras and binoculars, in 2011. Ricoh Imaging is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan and manufactures, sells, and services cameras and other optical equipment. In binoculars, Pentax is also known for using full multi-coating on lens surfaces and prism incident-light surfaces, a design approach that supports better light transmission and image contrast in field use.

For the price they can’t be beat!

I have a pair of Zeiss binoculars that cost approximately $1,000 . I picked up a pair of Pentax 9x32 DCF BC binoculars for $130 on close out and was amazed by the quality for the price. I just found another pair for sale today for $175 and couldn’t hit the buy now button quick enough..
