Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield in .40 & 9mm

• Self-illuminated tritium system: The Tru-Dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive use at any hour.
• Three-dot alignment: A clear front and rear dot layout helps the eye center the sights quickly, making target acquisition faster in both daylight and reduced light.
• Steel construction: The all-steel build gives these handgun night sights the durability needed for daily carry, repeated holstering, and hard use on the range.
• Fixed sight design: A fixed setup keeps the profile simple and robust, reducing the chance of settings shifting and supporting dependable point-of-aim consistency.
• Springfield XD fitment: Built for compatible Springfield pistols in 9mm and .40, this set offers a direct upgrade from standard sights for shooters who want low-light capability.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

The Meprolight Tru-Dot series is a family of handgun sights built around a simple idea: provide a sight picture that remains usable from bright daylight to low-light conditions without relying on batteries. In Meprolight’s handgun lineup, Tru-Dot models cover several needs, including fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height configurations, giving shooters options for defensive carry, duty use, and specialized pistol setups. The common thread across the series is the use of tritium illumination, which creates a constant aiming reference in darkness while preserving a familiar sight picture in normal light.

Across the range, Tru-Dot sights are made as replacement front and rear sights for specific handgun platforms, with models available for pistols from multiple manufacturers. The series is defined by its three-dot arrangement, which keeps alignment intuitive and consistent under changing light conditions. Some variants also offer different tritium dot color combinations, while adjustable versions add windage and elevation correction for shooters who want a more tunable setup. As a result, the Tru-Dot family sits as a practical, rugged option for shooters who value a conventional iron-sight format with dependable low-light visibility.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield in .40 & 9mm

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for Springfield in .40 & 9mm is a dedicated set of tritium night sights for compatible Springfield XD pistols, intended for shooters who want a more capable iron-sight setup for defensive carry, home protection, or range use in mixed lighting. Its main advantage is that the sight picture remains available around the clock. Because the tritium lamps are self-illuminated, there is no need to manage switches or batteries, and the pistol can be brought into action with the same sight reference in daylight, dusk, or darkness.

The sight layout uses a 3-dot alignment with a square rear sight, a combination that supports fast front-sight pickup while still giving a defined rear notch for deliberate aiming. In practical terms, that makes the set useful both for quick close-range presentation and for more careful shot placement when time allows. The fixed sight adjustment also suits a carry or duty handgun well, since it avoids exposed moving parts and keeps the system straightforward and durable.

Construction is another strong point. With a steel housing and a weight of 100.00 g, this sight set is built for repeated slide cycling, holster wear, and regular training. For Springfield owners chambered in 9mm or .40, it offers a familiar iron-sight handling feel while adding the low-light visibility that standard non-illuminated sights cannot provide.
