Meprolight Tru-Dot for Smith & Wesson SW99 in 9mm, .40, Compact

• Self-illuminated tritium system: the Meprolight Tru-Dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol is ready at any time with no switches to manage.
• Three-dot alignment: the green 3-dot layout gives a familiar reference that is quick to center under stress, helping faster sight acquisition for defensive or duty use.
• Steel construction: the steel housing stands up well to daily carry, repeated holstering, and hard use, giving a more durable upgrade than many factory sights.
• Fixed sight setup: the fixed front and rear arrangement keeps the system simple and robust, which suits shooters who want dependable alignment with minimal maintenance.
• Square rear sight: the square rear notch supports a clean, conventional sight picture that is easy to read in daylight and remains consistent when ambient light drops.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot sights sit at the core of the company’s handgun sight range as a practical self-illuminated night sight option for service pistols, defensive handguns, and everyday carry use. The series is built around a simple idea: keep the sight picture consistent from bright daylight to low-light conditions, so the shooter does not need to adapt to a different aiming reference as light changes. Across the range, tritium illumination provides a visible aiming point without batteries, while the familiar three-dot layout supports fast alignment at close defensive distances.

The series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, with models made to replace factory front and rear sights on a wide variety of handguns. Some versions are offered with different tritium dot color combinations, while others focus on a traditional all-green arrangement. What ties the family together is a durable metal build, straightforward operation, and a sight picture intended for rapid, instinctive use rather than target-style complexity. For shooters who want dependable handgun night sights with no electronic dependence, the Tru-Dot line remains a practical choice.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for Smith & Wesson SW99 in 9mm, .40, Compact

This Meprolight Tru-Dot for Smith & Wesson SW99 in 9mm, .40, Compact is configured as a direct replacement night sight set for the SW99 platform, giving that pistol a clearer aiming reference in poor light while preserving a familiar iron-sight presentation. Its self-illuminated tritium design means there are no batteries to replace and no controls to activate, which is especially useful on a defensive handgun that may be needed immediately and under changing light conditions.

The sight picture uses a green 3-dot alignment with a square rear sight, a combination that balances speed and familiarity. In daylight, the three-dot arrangement is easy to pick up quickly; in dim interiors, dusk, or nighttime conditions, the tritium continues to provide a visible reference that helps maintain alignment when standard black sights become harder to read. Because the system is fixed, it favors durability and consistency over adjustment complexity, making it well suited to carry, duty, and general defensive shooting.

The all-steel construction adds strength for repeated slide manipulation, holster wear, and long-term use, while the black finish keeps the sight body visually unobtrusive against the pistol. At 100.00 g, the set remains a compact upgrade focused on reliability rather than added bulk. For shooters using the SW99 in 9mm or .40, including Compact variants, this model delivers a straightforward night-sight solution that improves low-light usability without changing the basic handling of the pistol.
