Meprolight Tru-Dot for S&W Pistols

• Self-Illuminated Tritium Dots: the three-dot sight picture stays visible in low light and at night without batteries, so the pistol remains ready for defensive, duty, or carry use at any hour.
• Consistent 3-Dot Alignment: the front and rear dots present the same reference in daylight and darkness, helping maintain a familiar sight picture when lighting conditions change.
• Steel Construction: the all-steel build gives these handgun night sights the durability needed for everyday carry, repeated holstering, and hard use on a working pistol.
• Fixed Sight Setup: a fixed front and rear arrangement keeps the system simple and robust, with no exposed adjustment mechanisms to snag or shift during regular carry.
• Direct Replacement Format: designed as replacement sights for compatible S&W pistols, the Tru-Dot system upgrades low-light capability while preserving a conventional iron-sight layout.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot Series

Meprolight Tru-Dot is a family of pistol night sights built around a simple idea: keep the sight picture familiar while making it visible in poor light. In Meprolight’s current handgun lineup, the series includes fixed, adjustable, and suppressor-height variants, giving shooters options for standard carry pistols, handguns that need windage and elevation adjustment, and setups configured for suppressors or taller sight lines. Across the range, the defining feature is self-illuminated tritium, which provides a visible aiming reference without batteries.

The series is designed as a replacement for factory front and rear sights on compatible handguns, so it appeals to shooters who want a straightforward upgrade rather than a different operating concept. Its three-dot sight picture is intended to remain consistent in daylight, low light, and nighttime conditions, reducing the need to adapt to a new visual reference as ambient light changes. Selected models also offer different tritium dot color combinations, while the broader Tru-Dot family covers handguns from multiple manufacturers. The result is a practical line of handgun night sights that emphasizes familiar alignment, dependable low-light visibility, and durable metal construction.

About the Meprolight Tru-Dot for S&W Pistols

The Meprolight Tru-Dot for S&W Pistols is a fixed tritium night sight set made for shooters who want a conventional iron-sight layout with better visibility after dark. Its 3-dot alignment keeps the aiming reference intuitive: the front sight is picked up quickly, while the rear dots help center it in a way that remains easy to read when ambient light drops. Because the illumination is self-powered, the sights are always on and do not depend on switches, batteries, or electronics.

For practical handgun use, that matters in the situations where iron sights are most often relied on: defensive carry, duty use, and training in mixed lighting. The fixed configuration favors durability and consistency over extra adjustment controls, making the sight set well suited to pistols that are carried regularly or used hard. A square rear sight gives a clean rear reference, while the green tritium dots provide a clear low-light aiming point that remains easy to interpret under stress.

The housing is made from steel, which supports long service life under repeated draw-and-holster cycles and routine slide handling. Finished in black, the sight set keeps a subdued appearance on the pistol while focusing attention on the illuminated dots rather than on the body of the sights themselves. For compatible Smith & Wesson handguns, this Meprolight handgun night sight offers a durable, no-battery upgrade that preserves the familiar feel of standard pistol sights while extending their usefulness into low-light conditions.
