Meprolight HVS for Glock 42/43, front sight

• Self-Illuminated Tritium Front Sight: The tritium insert stays visible in darkness and low light without batteries, so the front sight remains easy to pick up for defensive carry and night shooting.
• High-Visibility Front Sight Design: The Meprolight HVS concept focuses attention on the front sight, helping the shooter acquire the aiming point faster in bright daylight as well as in transitional light.
• Steel Construction: A steel sight body stands up to daily holster wear, repeated slide cycling, and hard use better than softer materials, making it a practical choice for a carry pistol.
• Fixed-Sight Simplicity: The fixed configuration keeps the setup straightforward and durable, with no adjustment screws to snag or shift during regular carry and training.
• Glock 42/43 Fit: Built for the slim Glock platform, this front sight suits compact concealed-carry pistols where fast sight picture and dependable low-light visibility matter most.

About the Meprolight HVS Series

Meprolight HVS is the earlier name for the sight family that Meprolight later renamed Hyper-Bright in 2021. The series was developed as a practical handgun-sight line for shooters who need a clear sight picture in both daylight and reduced light, without relying on batteries or electronic controls. Its defining feature is the use of self-illuminated tritium, which keeps the sights visible around the clock and makes them well suited to defensive pistols, duty handguns, and general range use.

Within the Meprolight lineup, this family sits in the company’s dedicated pistol-sight range and emphasizes fast visual indexing over mechanical complexity. The original HVS concept used a three-dot arrangement with a U-shaped rear notch, paired with high-contrast front-sight rings in colors such as orange, green, and yellow to make the front sight stand out quickly in daylight. The sights use steel construction and a fixed design, which keeps them compact, durable, and appropriate for everyday carry. Available for multiple handgun makes, the series is aimed at shooters who want a robust iron-sight solution that remains usable from bright outdoor conditions to dark interiors.

About the Meprolight HVS for Glock 42/43, front sight

The Meprolight HVS for Glock 42/43, front sight is a dedicated front sight for Glock’s slim concealed-carry pistols, built around the idea that the eye should find the front blade quickly and consistently. On compact handguns such as the Glock 42 and Glock 43, sight radius is short and presentation speed matters, so a front sight that is easy to see can make a noticeable difference in fast defensive shooting, close-range drills, and low-light use.

This model uses a tritium night-sight design with self-illumination, which means the aiming reference remains visible in darkness without switches, charging, or batteries. In practice, that gives the shooter a constant front reference when moving between bright outdoor light, indoor lighting, and near-dark conditions. Because this is a fixed steel sight, it also favors durability and consistency over adjustment complexity. The steel body is well suited to a pistol that may be carried daily, holstered often, and exposed to repeated recoil and slide movement.

As a front-sight-only component with no rear sight included, it is especially relevant for users replacing a worn front blade, updating an existing Glock sight set, or building a preferred sight picture around a chosen rear sight. The black finish keeps the body discreet, while the illuminated front element provides the visual reference that matters most when speed and clarity are the priority.

About Meprolight

Meprolight was founded in 1990 as a supplier of sights and battle optics to the Israel Defense Forces. Based in Or Akiva, Israel, the company develops and manufactures optical and electro-optical sighting systems for military, law-enforcement, and civilian users. It is a division of SK Group.

The company’s product range covers conventional sights, tritium night sights, reflex optics, thermal sights, magnified optics, magnifiers, and night-vision systems. Meprolight also builds sighting solutions for pistols, rifles, shotguns, and carbines, which gives it broad experience across both compact defensive firearms and larger weapon platforms.
