Meopta MeoPro R5 4-20x50 Product description

  • 5x zoom range: The 4-20x magnification span covers everything from general stalking and varmint work to more deliberate long-range shot placement, so one riflescope can handle several hunting and sporting roles.
  • 50 mm objective lens: The larger front lens helps maintain a brighter sight picture as magnification increases, which is especially useful when shooting in poor light or when aiming precisely at smaller targets.
  • Side parallax from 9.14 m to infinity: Close-range parallax adjustment makes the scope practical not only for centerfire rifles, but also for rimfire and air rifle setups where short-distance precision matters.
  • Second focal plane reticle: The reticle keeps the same apparent size throughout the zoom range, giving a consistently fine aiming point at higher magnification without covering too much of the target.
  • 1-inch nitrogen-purged tube: The 25.4 mm tube keeps mounting straightforward while the waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction supports reliable field use in changing weather and under recoil.

About the Meopta MeoPro Series

The Meopta MeoPro series was introduced in 2010 as a line of sporting optics that brought Meopta’s established optical know-how into a more accessible part of the market. In the riflescope range, the series was developed around the idea of giving hunters and recreational shooters a practical balance of optical quality, dependable mechanics and straightforward handling, rather than adding unnecessary complexity. A defining part of the original concept was the use of MeoBright 550 ion-assisted lens coatings, which support strong light transmission and a clear, high-contrast image in real field conditions.

Within Meopta’s lineup, MeoPro riflescopes have traditionally served as versatile all-round models for sporting rifles, with a focus on familiar proportions, clean controls and proven hunting-oriented formats. The original series also used MeoTrak II positive-click adjustment controls and was built around the classic 1-inch tube format, which suits conventional hunting rifle setups well. In practice, that makes the series a natural fit for users who want a scope for mixed hunting and range use, with enough magnification for precise shot placement but without moving into heavier tactical-style designs.

About the Meopta MeoPro R5 4-20x50

The Meopta MeoPro R5 4-20x50 is a variable-power riflescope built for shooters who need one optic to cover both general hunting distances and more precise work on smaller or more distant targets. Its 4-20x magnification range gives it a broad operating window: lower power remains practical for scanning and shot setup, while the top end provides the image scale needed for careful aiming when distance increases or target size decreases. Combined with a 50.00 mm objective lens and 89% light transmission, the scope is configured to preserve a usable, bright image when conditions become less forgiving.

This model uses a second focal plane reticle, a layout many hunters prefer because the reticle stays visually consistent through the zoom range. That helps keep the aiming point fine and uncluttered at higher magnification, where target detail matters most. The capped turrets reinforce the scope’s field-oriented character: they protect the settings from accidental movement during transport and hard use, while the 7mm/100m - 1/4MOA click value still allows deliberate zeroing adjustments. With 17.50 mrad / 60.00 MOA of elevation and windage travel, there is enough adjustment range for a wide variety of sporting rifle setups.

A further practical advantage is the parallax adjustment from 9.14 m to inf., which expands the scope’s usefulness beyond typical centerfire hunting rifles. It is well suited to rimfire and air rifle applications where close-range precision is important, while still remaining fully capable at longer distances. The 25.4 mm tube, 345.00 mm length and 660.00 g weight keep the scope in a familiar sporting format, and the nitrogen-filled, waterproof, fogproof and shockproof construction supports dependable use across changing weather and terrain.

About Meopta

Meopta traces its origins to Optikotechna, established in Přerov, Czechoslovakia, in 1933. After World War II, the company was nationalized and renamed Meopta, and it later resumed riflescope production in 1988. Today, the company is headquartered in Přerov, Czech Republic and develops and manufactures optical, opto-mechanical, and optoelectronic products.

In the sporting market, Meopta is known for producing riflescopes, binoculars, and spotting scopes, with product families such as MeoStar covering several of those categories. The company also uses proprietary technologies including MeoBright antireflective lens coatings and MeoDrop hydrophobic coatings that help repel water and dirt from external lens surfaces. That combination of in-house optical manufacturing and long experience in precision mechanics gives Meopta a strong reputation among shooters and hunters who value practical optical performance and durable construction.
