Levenhuk Heritage Plus 12x45

• 12x magnification for long-distance detail: The higher power helps pick out terrain features, game, and distant targets more clearly than lower-magnification field binoculars, making it useful where observation distance matters more than a very wide view.
• Porro prism optical system: The classic Porro design supports strong depth perception and a spacious image, which helps when scanning open ground and judging distance in the field.
• Fully multi-coated optics with ruby coating: The coatings improve light transmission and help maintain contrast, while the ruby coating is intended to improve image sharpness and contrast in twilight conditions.
• Aluminum body with nitrogen filling: The metal housing gives the binoculars a solid, field-ready feel, and the nitrogen-filled construction helps prevent internal fogging during temperature changes.
• Wide operating temperature range: With operation from -40 ... +50 °C, this model is suited to demanding outdoor use in winter cold as well as hot summer conditions.

About the Levenhuk Heritage Series

The Levenhuk Heritage series was developed in cooperation with the Kazan Optical-Mechanical Plant, giving the line a distinctly traditional field-binocular character. Within Levenhuk’s binocular range, the Heritage models are positioned as classic Porro-prism field binoculars built for observation in open terrain rather than compact everyday carry. That makes them especially relevant for hunting optics, route finding, and general outdoor observation where a robust body and straightforward handling matter as much as optical reach.

Across the series, the binoculars use Russian BK10 optical glass with multi-coated optics and aluminum-alloy bodies, combining a familiar military-style layout with durable construction. The Heritage BASE and Heritage PLUS families share this classic design approach, while the Heritage PLUS line adds ruby-coated optics and a reticle in the right eyepiece. That reticle allows distance estimation when the size of the observed object is known, which gives the PLUS models a practical edge for users who need more than simple observation. The result is a series aimed at people who value traditional binocular ergonomics, solid mechanical construction, and field-oriented features over compact roof-prism styling.

About the Levenhuk Heritage Plus 12x45

The Levenhuk Heritage Plus 12x45 is built for long-range observation in open country, where its 12x magnification helps reveal distant detail that would be harder to resolve with lower-power binoculars. This makes it well suited to hillside glassing, fixed-position observation, and other situations where identifying shapes, movement, or landmarks at distance is more important than having the widest possible field of view. The 45.00 mm objective lenses provide a useful balance between light-gathering ability and manageable size, while the 3.75 mm exit pupil supports a bright enough image for daytime and fading-light use without making the binocular excessively bulky.

The optical system uses Porro prisms and fully multicoated lenses, a combination that supports good contrast and a natural sense of depth when scanning terrain. The Heritage PLUS configuration also adds a reticle in the right eyepiece, which is intended for estimating distance to an observed object when its dimensions are known. In practice, that gives this model a more field-oriented role than a standard observation binocular, especially for hunting and orienteering applications. Central focusing keeps operation simple and quick, while the right-eyepiece diopter adjustment helps fine-tune the image to the user’s eyesight.

The housing is made of aluminium, filled with nitrogen, and rated as waterproof and fogproof, so it is designed to cope with wet weather and rapid temperature shifts. At 900.00 g, it has the substantial feel typical of traditional field binoculars, and the operating range of -40 ... +50 °C underlines its suitability for demanding outdoor conditions.

About Levenhuk

Levenhuk began operations in 2002 and describes itself as an American manufacturer of optical instruments headquartered in Tampa, Florida. The company’s catalog covers a broad span of observation equipment, including binoculars, spotting scopes, telescopes, monoculars, and microscopes. That breadth is relevant here because it shows Levenhuk’s long-standing focus on practical optical devices for both field use and general observation.

Within binoculars, Levenhuk has developed several distinct product families, including Atom, Karma, Sherman, and Vegas, while other parts of its range extend into thermal and digital night-vision devices. This mix of traditional optics and newer electro-optics gives the brand a wide base in observation equipment rather than a narrow single-category focus. For the Heritage line in particular, Levenhuk combines its own product planning with cooperation on specialized field binoculars, which helps explain the series’ emphasis on classic construction, military-style usability, and durable all-weather design.
