Kahles K540i 5-40x56i Refined

• VISIONFLEX Optical System with 56mm Objective for Maximum Performance: The K540i REFINED combines Kahles' VISIONFLEX optical design with a 56mm objective lens and 36mm main tube, delivering a field of view of 10.2 metres at 100 metres at minimum magnification — approximately 40% wider than the K525i at 25× — together with an exceptionally generous eyebox that remains consistent across all magnification settings. The larger objective lens supports image brightness at high magnification, with an exit pupil of 7.7 mm at 5× for adequate light gathering in variable conditions.
• 40× Maximum Magnification for Extreme Long-Range Precision: The 5–40× magnification range with a true 8× zoom ratio provides the image scale needed for precise shot placement and target reading at the distances encountered in F-Class, ELR competition, and extreme long-range hunting. At 5× minimum, the scope retains a useful 10.2-metre field of view at 100 metres for target acquisition and stage transitions before increasing power for the shot.
• 10 MIL Per Revolution Turrets on Both Axes with INDEXSTOP: The REFINED update delivers 10 MIL windage turrets to match the established elevation design, with 100 clicks per revolution in 0.1 MRAD increments on both axes. The enlarged click spacing improves tactile feedback under competition conditions. The INDEXSTOP — set 2–3 clicks below the zero indicator after zeroing — enables fast, repeatable return to zero. The Revolution Indicator displays the current turret revolution via a mechanical indicator pin, and the patented TwistGuard on the windage turret prevents accidental adjustment without any locking requirement.
• Three Reticle Options — SKMR4+, SKMR+, MSR2/Ki: All three reticles are illuminated first focal plane designs with subtensions accurate across the full 5–40× range. The SKMR4+ provides an extended MRAD holdover grid for structured reference at extreme distances. The SKMR+ delivers a cleaner layout for shooters who prefer reduced visual complexity at the scope's highest magnification settings. The MSR2/Ki offers a competition-proven design updated to the latest Kahles standard. All variants are available with the windage turret on either the left or right side of the turret housing.
• Top-Mounted Parallax and Windage Left or Right: The parallax knob is positioned below the elevation turret in Kahles' patented central arrangement, adjustable from 20 metres to infinity, and accessible with one hand without reaching over the scope. The windage turret can be configured on the left for right-handed shooters or on the right for left-handed shooters, allowing both to operate all controls from the firing position without repositioning.

About the K Series

The Kahles K Series is Kahles' flagship line of precision riflescopes, designed for demanding sport shooting, PRS and F-Class competition, and long-range hunting applications. Built on first focal plane optics with consistent ergonomic design across all models, the K Series is engineered for shooters who require accurate reticle subtensions across the full magnification range, generous adjustment travel, and a reliable mechanical platform that holds up under sustained competition and field use.

All K Series models share Kahles' patented top-mounted parallax arrangement, CCW turret adjustment direction, and single-hand accessibility of all controls. Proprietary features including INDEXSTOP, Revolution Indicator, EASYREAD labelling, and TwistGuard are integrated across the lineup. The higher-specification models — K328i and K540i — additionally feature the VISIONFLEX optical system, which delivers an exceptionally wide field of view and generous eyebox that remain consistent across all magnification settings.

The 2026 REFINED update modernises the core K Series models with a consistent set of improvements: 10 MIL per revolution windage turrets matching the elevation design, an enhanced parallax wheel geometry, updated reticle designs, and increased fields of view across individual models. The REFINED generation currently comprises four models: the K318i REFINED (3.5–18×50), K525i REFINED (5–25×56), K328i REFINED (3.5–28×50), and K540i REFINED (5–40×56).

About the Model (Kahles K540i REFINED 5-40x56)

The Kahles K540i REFINED is the highest-specification model in the K Series REFINED lineup, designed for professional long-range and extreme long-range shooters who require maximum magnification, a large objective lens, and the widest possible field of view in a single precision optic. The 5–40× magnification range with a true 8× zoom ratio covers from a practical 5× minimum — with a field of view of 10.2 metres at 100 metres — to a 40× upper end that delivers the image scale needed for reading targets, spotting impacts, and placing precise shots at extreme distances in F-Class, ELR, and long-range hunting contexts.

The VISIONFLEX optical system combined with the 56mm objective lens and 36mm main tube provides the optical and mechanical foundation for this performance level. An exit pupil of 7.7 mm at 5× supports image brightness at minimum magnification, while the consistent eyebox across all magnifications reduces the effort required to maintain a clean sight picture when moving between distances during a competition stage. Eye relief is 92 mm and dioptre compensation covers +2 / −3 dpt.

Three illuminated first focal plane reticle variants are available. The SKMR4+ (art. no. 10950/10951) provides an extended MRAD holdover grid suited to structured long-range reference work. The SKMR+ (art. no. 10952/10953) delivers a cleaner layout for shooters who prefer reduced visual complexity at the scope's highest magnification settings. The MSR2/Ki (art. no. 10954/10955) offers a competition-proven design updated to current Kahles standards. All variants are available with the windage turret on the left (for right-handed shooters) or on the right (for left-handed shooters).

Both elevation and windage turrets operate at 10 MIL per revolution in 0.1 MRAD click values, adjusting counter-clockwise (CCW). Total travel is 29 MRAD elevation and 12 MRAD windage. The INDEXSTOP, Revolution Indicator, and EASYREAD labelling are integrated on both turrets. The patented TwistGuard on the windage turret prevents unintentional adjustment without requiring locking. The top-mounted parallax covers 20 metres to infinity. Overall length is 408 mm and weight is 1115 g.
