hello optics team i would like to ask you 1 question i have tikka t3x battue 30-06 cal i want to put conttessa 12 mil rail on it so i can put contessa repeatable contessa mount for kahles helia wit SR swarovski rail can you tell me what would be the minimal high so it can clear the bolt and the battue ramp thanks mario

Dear Mario!

I am sending you a setup with scope mounts with BH 15.5mm on Tikka T3x Varmint rifle (the closest dimensionaly to Battue). The Contessa scope mounts you are looking at have a height of BH 20mm (15mm the mount and 5mm the dovetail). This means you will have plenty of room between the scope and the battue sight.

Good day, I am located in Mauritius. I am a client of KAHLES and have so far purchased 3 scopes for 3 different rifles. I use a Kahles Helia C 1.6-8 X 42i - which I have purchased 3 years ago from gun shop in South Africa. I remove the battery from the scope after each hunting season. Upon re-inserting the battery this year, I found out that the plastic bed (blue in colour) which houses the battery had degraded and had become fragmented. I am using the scope and the reticle still turns on and off but it looks like the plastic is going to deteriorate further. Are you aware of similar deterioration in other scopes ?

So far we haven't heard of a similar problem, however, it could occur if the scope would be exposed to severe moisture over the years and it would start to deteriorate. As mentioned you are probably our first client that has reported this problem. In any case, we would strongly advise shipping the product back to the manufacturer as they will most certainly be able to fix the battery compartment problem.

Further to the exchange of mails, I followed Kahles recommendation and sent my scope to Austria for repairs. Kahles sent the scope back to me having replaced the faulty part and having done a complete overhaul of the scope. Thank you very much for the first class service. Much appreciated.

Small, light and sharp

I have this scope on my Merkel K4 and could not have picked a better scope. It is extremely light and looks very sleek on the rifle. Optically there are no compromises and it can match my other Zeiss scopes. Illumination is even better than on my other scopes.

All stars, if just could be a bit cheaper. :)
