HI VIZ Rear Sight, 3/8" mm Dovetail

• Interchangeable LitePipes: The rear sight uses removable fiber-optic LitePipes, letting shooters change the sight color to suit light conditions and personal preference for a clearer rear reference.
• Fully adjustable rear sight: Windage and elevation adjustment make it easier to regulate point of impact on different rifles and muzzleloaders instead of being locked into a fixed factory setting.
• 3/8" dovetail fit: Built for firearms with a standard 3/8" rear dovetail, this design offers a practical upgrade path for many rifles and muzzleloaders without major modification.
• All-steel construction: The steel body gives the sight the rigidity and wear resistance needed for regular field use and repeated adjustment.
• Brighter sight picture: The fiber-optic arrangement makes the rear sight easier to pick up quickly in daylight, which helps with faster alignment for plinking, hunting, and general range use.

About the Hi Viz Interchangeable Sight Series

The Hi Viz Interchangeable Sight series sits within the company’s Original Sights family and is built around one practical idea: a durable sight body paired with interchangeable LitePipes. Rather than forcing the shooter to accept one fixed sight color, the system allows the sight picture to be tuned for changing light, target background, or simple personal preference. That makes the series relevant to both everyday shooters and competitive users, especially when a more visible sight picture matters more than added complexity.

Across the range, HIVIZ offers interchangeable-sight models for handguns, shotguns, and tactical or sporting rifles, with platform-specific versions for firearms such as Colt 1911, FN FNS and FNX, and Glock pistols. Depending on the model, LitePipes are available in red, green, white, or black. A key characteristic of the series is that the molded LitePipes are removable, replaceable, and reusable, so the sight can be refreshed or reconfigured without replacing the entire unit. The result is a straightforward sight family focused on visibility, adaptability, and simple mechanical design.

About the HI VIZ Rear Sight, 3/8" mm Dovetail

The HI VIZ Rear Sight, 3/8" mm Dovetail is a universal rear rifle sight designed for rifles and muzzleloaders with a standard 3/8" dovetail. Its role is simple but useful: replace a harder-to-see factory rear sight with a brighter, more adaptable aiming reference that is easier to align in daylight. For plinking rifles, small-game setups, and general-purpose field guns, that can make the sight picture quicker to read and less fatiguing over a long session.

This model stands out for its fully adjustable windage and elevation design. That adjustability matters in practice because it allows the shooter to regulate the sight to a chosen load or firearm rather than working around a fixed rear blade. The sight also uses interchangeable LitePipes in green and red, giving a simple way to alter the rear sight picture for different backgrounds and ambient light. Some shooters prefer one color for bright range conditions and another for mixed field light, and this design supports that without replacing the sight body.

The housing uses all-steel construction, which suits a part that must hold zero, resist handling wear, and tolerate repeated adjustment. Combined with its black finish and U-notch rear profile, the sight is built as a practical iron-sight upgrade for shooters who want a more visible rear reference while keeping a conventional dovetail-mounted setup.

About HiViz

HiViz began in 1996 with a single shooting-related product and grew into a specialist maker of sights for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. Based in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, the company focuses on sighting systems that improve visibility through fiber-optic and tritium technologies, along with related shooting accessories such as recoil pads.

A defining part of the brand’s identity is its LitePipe concept, which uses removable and reusable fiber-optic elements to tailor the sight picture. HiViz expanded that idea into products such as LiteWave sights, which use an exoskeleton design with an integral LitePipe locking system, and LiteWave H3 models that combine tritium with fiber optics. Its catalog also includes established sight families such as TriViz and CompSight, reflecting a long emphasis on practical, highly visible iron sights for sporting and defensive firearms.
