Every model in the series shares the same core design: a 12 μm uncooled VOx infrared detector, a 0.49" AMOLED display with 1440×1080 resolution, and a symmetrical, ambidextrous housing that supports genuine one-handed use. A mini focusing roller allows fast, precise focus adjustment with a single finger, while a replaceable 18650 battery provides roughly 10 hours of continuous runtime and can be installed in the dark without needing to identify the terminals.

Connectivity across the series is built around dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz/5 GHz) and Bluetooth, allowing users to pair the device with a companion app for image transfer and remote control. The Guide TD635S is the higher-resolution counterpart to the TD435S within the compact end of the TD Gen3 lineup, sharing the same 35 mm, F1.0 objective lens and 159×54×74 mm housing but built around a 640×512 uncooled VOx infrared detector instead of a 400×300 sensor. This gives it finer image resolution and more detail at distance while keeping weight down to 362 g, only slightly more than the smaller-sensor model.

Paired with the 35 mm lens, the higher-resolution detector produces a 12.5° × 9.4° field of view (22×17 m at 100 m) — noticeably wider than the 50 mm-lens TD650S — along with a 2.03x–16.24x magnification range. This combination suits scanning wider areas at close to medium range, such as open fields, hedgerows, or tree lines, rather than extreme long-range spotting. Detection range is rated at 1800 m / 1950 yd, with manual focus for precise adjustment at different distances.

Images are shown on a 0.49" AMOLED display with 1440×1080 resolution and a 20 mm eye relief, with seven selectable color palettes (White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, Green Hot, Iron Red, Blue Hot, and Sepia).
