EOTech Vudu X 2-12x40

• 2-12x magnification range: Covers fast shots at the low end and more deliberate aiming at distance on the high end, making the scope well suited to stalking, general hunting, and mixed-distance field use.
• Second focal plane illuminated reticle: Keeps the reticle visually consistent through the zoom range, so the aiming point stays easy to pick up quickly in changing light and against darker backgrounds.
• Zero Stop and capped precision turrets: Lets the shooter dial with confidence and return to a known zero without hesitation, while the capped layout helps prevent accidental movement during transport or hard field use.
• Generous eye relief: Around 94.4-94.7 mm of eye relief supports a comfortable shooting position and helps maintain a forgiving sight picture under recoil or from improvised positions.
• Aircraft-grade aluminum construction: The 30 mm tube, nitrogen purging, and water, fog, and shock resistance give the scope the durability needed for regular hunting and practical rifle use in variable weather.

About the EOTech Vudu Series

The EOTech Vudu series was introduced in 2016 as the company’s magnified-optics line for shooters who need more reach and precision than a non-magnified sight can provide. Within EOTECH’s lineup, Vudu sits as a premium duty-grade riflescope family aimed at serious precision shooters, with applications that extend from competition use to big-game hunting and professional field work.

A defining trait of the series is its broad configuration range. Vudu models include both first-focal-plane and second-focal-plane designs, allowing shooters to choose between scaling reticles for hold-based work or a constant reticle appearance for speed and simplicity. The line also uses glass-etched reticles with options in MOA, MRAD, and Horus-based layouts, including illuminated aiming points on selected models. Mechanically, Vudu scopes follow a robust design philosophy built around single-piece aircraft-grade aluminum tubes, anodized finishes, nitrogen purging, O-ring sealing, and recoil-resistant construction. That combination gives the Vudu family a reputation for practical durability as well as optical clarity suited to hunting optics and tactical optics alike.

About the EOTech Vudu X 2-12x40

The EOTech Vudu X 2-12x40 is a versatile second focal plane riflescope built for shooters who want one optic to handle close woodland shots, open-field hunting, and general-purpose rifle work without moving into a heavier long-range format. Its 2-12x magnification range gives it a broad working envelope: low power remains useful for quick target acquisition and a wider view of the surroundings, while 12x provides the precision needed for smaller targets or more careful shot placement at distance. With a 40 mm objective lens and fully multicoated optics, the scope balances manageable size with the image brightness and contrast needed for real field conditions.

The reticle system is designed around speed and clarity. EOTECH offers this model with illuminated SFP reticle options such as BD1 and DP1, both intended to keep the aiming point easy to read while preserving a clean sight picture. Because the reticle stays the same apparent size throughout the zoom range, it remains easy to see at low magnification and visually familiar at higher settings. For practical rifle use, that means less distraction when transitioning between distances or targets.

Mechanically, the scope emphasizes straightforward operation. Capped turrets help protect settings from accidental movement, while the Zero Stop system adds confidence when dialing and returning to zero. The laser-engraved magnification ring and removable throw lever support faster power changes, and the 30 mm tube, nitrogen-filled construction, and water, fog, and shock resistance make the optic suitable for hard use in changing weather. At 320.00 mm and 597.00 g, it stays compact enough for a practical hunting rifle while still offering the adjustment range and handling expected from a modern variable riflescope.

About Eotech

EOTECH was created in 1995 as a subsidiary of the Environmental Research Institute of Michigan (ERIM), an organization established in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1972. The company is headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan and is best known for its holographic weapon sights, which have been designed, developed, and manufactured in the United States since its founding period. EOTECH introduced its first Holographic Weapon Sight at SHOT Show 1996 in partnership with Bushnell, establishing the brand’s long association with professional-grade aiming systems.

In magnified optics, EOTECH introduced the Vudu precision riflescope line in 2016, expanding from electronic sights into premium riflescopes for precision shooting, hunting, and tactical applications. The company has since broadened its optics portfolio further, including the launch of the EFLX Mini Reflex Sight in 2022 and the acquisition of Intevac’s Photonics division in 2022, which added digital sensor and night-vision capabilities. That background makes EOTECH a specialist brand with experience across both traditional magnified optics and advanced electro-optical systems.
