Dentler Base Rail BASIS VARIO - Weaver / Picatinny

• Continuously adjustable alignment: The BASIS VARIO design adds stepless height and windage correction at the base, so the rifle can be matched to the optic without using up the scope’s internal adjustment range.
• Modular DENTLER interface: This rail works within the DENTLER BASIS ecosystem, allowing the optic mounting rail to be exchanged while keeping a consistent interface on the firearm.
• Steel construction: The steel body gives the base the rigidity needed for repeatable mounting and dependable support on rifles used with heavier optics or demanding calibers.
• Low 4.00 mm profile: The modest 4.00 mm height helps keep the mounting setup close to the receiver, which supports a stable cheek weld and a more natural shooting position.
• Broad platform compatibility: With support for Weaver / Picatinny applications and a long list of firearm fits, this base rail suits shooters who want one mounting standard across different rifles.

About the BASIS VARIO Series

The DENTLER BASIS VARIO series is the adjustable branch of the company’s modular mounting system for hunting and sporting rifles. While the standard BASIS concept is built around a firearm-specific base rail and a separate optic mounting rail, BASIS VARIO adds continuous windage and height adjustment at the base itself. In practice, that makes it especially useful for rifles and optic combinations where precise alignment matters, or where one optic may be shared across more than one firearm.

The series is aimed at shooters who want a repeatable, mechanically consistent mounting platform without resorting to improvised shimming or extensive fitting work. DENTLER’s design philosophy centers on a firearm-specific lower interface and a standardized upper connection, so the system stays modular while remaining tailored to the host rifle. Within the range, users can choose mounting rails for different optic footprints, including Weaver / Picatinny formats, which makes the system relevant for traditional riflescopes, red dots, and other sighting setups. The result is a mounting family built around precision, interchangeability, and controlled alignment rather than a one-size-fits-all rail.

About the Dentler Base Rail BASIS VARIO - Weaver / Picatinny

The Dentler Base Rail BASIS VARIO - Weaver / Picatinny is designed for shooters who need a stable rifle-side foundation and the flexibility to work with the widely used Weaver / Picatinny standard. Its role is not simply to provide an attachment point, but to serve as part of DENTLER’s adjustable modular system, where the base remains on the firearm and the optic-side mount can be changed as needed. That makes this model particularly relevant for rifles used with different optics over time, or for setups where exact alignment is important from the start.

What sets this version apart within the DENTLER concept is the VARIO adjustment capability. By allowing correction at the base, it helps preserve the optic’s own adjustment range for actual zeroing and shooting corrections instead of compensating for mounting geometry. This is especially useful on rifles that may otherwise require extra correction to center the optic properly. The steel construction supports that purpose with the stiffness needed for a secure, repeatable interface, while the black matte finish keeps the rail visually discreet on practical hunting or tactical-style rifles.

Its 4.00 mm build height also matters in use. A lower base helps keep the optic closer to the bore line, which can improve head position and overall handling. Combined with compatibility across a wide range of rifle models, this base rail suits shooters looking for a modular mounting solution that prioritizes alignment, repeatability, and a clean mechanical fit.

About Dentler

Dentler Jagdwaffen was founded in 2011 by Daniel Dentler and is based in Leutkirch im Allgäu, Germany. The company focuses on modular riflescope mounting systems for hunting firearms, with its best-known platforms being BASIS and BASIS VARIO. A central idea behind these systems is the combination of a firearm-specific base rail with an interchangeable optic mounting rail, giving the user a structured way to configure different rifles and sighting systems within one mounting concept.

Dentler’s product range reflects that specialization. The company offers rails for firearms from brands such as Benelli, Browning, Merkel, Heckler & Koch, and Rößler, and mounting interfaces for optics including Aimpoint, Pulsar, Swarovski, Zeiss, and Weaver/Picatinny formats. That narrow focus on mounting technology has given Dentler a strong identity in the field of hunting optics accessories, particularly for shooters who value repeatable installation and a modular approach.
