Dali S243 Thermal Monocular Product description

  • 384x288 thermal sensor: The uncooled FPA sensor gives the Dali S243 enough native detail to separate animals, people, and terrain features more clearly than entry-level thermal viewers, which helps with faster target recognition during scanning.
  • 1.0x base view with 1.0-4.0x magnification: A true 1x starting magnification makes it easier to search wide areas at short and medium distances, while digital magnification lets the user inspect heat sources more closely without changing position.
  • 50 Hz refresh rate: Fast image refresh keeps movement looking smoother when panning across fields, woodland edges, or tracks, making the monocular more comfortable to use for handheld observation.
  • Photo, video, and video output functions: Built-in recording support makes it easier to document sightings, review observations later, or share the thermal image on an external display when needed.
  • Compact, weather-resistant housing: At 400 g with waterproof and fogproof construction, the S243 is easier to carry for long periods and better suited to damp, cold, or changeable outdoor conditions.

About the Dali Thermal Monoculars Series

Dali Thermal Monoculars sit within the company’s outdoor thermal-imaging range and are built for users who need a handheld device for hunting, observation, and outdoor travel after dark. The series centers on practical field use: compact formats, straightforward controls, and thermal imaging that helps reveal heat sources when visible light is poor or absent. Across the range, DALI uses uncooled focal-plane-array detectors, a common choice for portable thermal devices because they keep size and power consumption manageable while still delivering useful detection capability.

Within the broader family, DALI’s monocular lineup includes both simpler compact viewers and more feature-rich models with functions such as digital zoom, photo and video recording, and wireless image transmission. That makes the series relevant to users who want anything from a basic handheld spotter to a more connected thermal observation tool. The design philosophy is clearly field-oriented rather than bench-oriented: these monoculars are made to be carried, used one-handed, and relied on for quick scanning, route checking, and locating heat signatures in darkness, brush, or poor weather.

About the Dali S243 Thermal Monocular

The Dali S243 Thermal Monocular is a compact handheld thermal viewer built around a 384x288 uncooled FPA sensor and a 15.00 mm objective lens. That combination gives it a broad viewing perspective for searching open ground, woodland margins, farm buildings, or tracks where covering area quickly matters more than high base magnification. Its 24.90 ° field of view, listed as 431.00 m/1000m, supports fast scanning and makes it easier to keep moving targets in view.

The optical setup starts at 1.00x magnification and extends to 4.00x, which suits a handheld thermal monocular well. At base magnification, the image feels more natural for observation on the move; at higher digital magnification, the user can inspect a heat source more closely to judge shape, movement, or position. The 50.00 Hz refresh rate helps maintain a smoother image when panning, while the stated 60.00 mK NETD supports usable thermal contrast for general detection tasks.

The S243 also includes practical viewing and recording functions. Its LCOS display with 720x540 resolution presents the thermal image in a compact eyepiece format, and the monocular supports image capture, video recording, and video output for documentation or external viewing. With a 400.00 g body, 5.00 h battery life, and waterproof and fogproof construction, it is suited to extended handheld use in changing outdoor conditions from - 20°C / + 50°C.

About Dali

DALI traces its roots to the Zhejiang Provincial Testing Technology Research Institute, established in 1984. The company is based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, and it developed from a research background into a manufacturer focused on infrared and optoelectronic systems. After restructuring in 2001, it was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in February 2008.

In the thermal-imaging field, DALI works across a broad technical base that includes uncooled focal-plane-array detectors, infrared thermal-imaging cameras, thermal systems, and other optoelectronic products. That background is relevant to handheld thermal devices because it means the company is not only assembling finished products, but also working in the core detector and imaging technologies behind them. Its outdoor range includes thermal monoculars, riflescopes, and binoculars, and the IRtech name is used as DALI’s professional thermal-imaging brand.
