Caldwell AR500 Target Post

• AR500 steel construction: Built from steel that is intended for rifle-rated target systems, giving the post the durability needed for repeated range use and reducing wear in high-volume practice setups.
• Replaceable hook system: The hanging point is designed to work with targets that use a 1/2" x 1" slot, making it easier to keep an existing target collection in service without changing the whole stand.
• Two-piece transport-friendly design: The post breaks down for easier carrying and storage, which matters when range equipment needs to fit in a vehicle with firearms, ammunition, and other gear.
• Spike-leg setup: The ground-mount design supports quick installation, so the target hanger can be placed and repositioned with less effort during practice sessions.
• Supports heavier steel targets: With an assembled length of 70" and support for targets up to 50 lbs, it suits larger hanging steel plates used for training, recreational shooting, and range drills.

About the Caldwell Accessories Series

Caldwell Accessories covers a broad group of support products built around practical range use rather than a single optics platform or firearm type. In Caldwell’s lineup, this series sits alongside the brand’s better-known shooting rests, steel targets, chronographs, and hearing protection, serving the parts of a shooting setup that make training sessions more efficient and easier to manage. The emphasis is typically on simple mechanical design, field-ready materials, and compatibility with common firearms or target systems.

Within the wider Caldwell catalog, the accessories range includes products for carrying, mounting, loading, and organizing equipment, as well as components that support target shooting and range work. That broad role gives the series a distinctly utilitarian character: products are generally made to be easy to transport, straightforward to set up, and durable enough for repeated use outdoors. For shooters building a complete practice setup, Caldwell Accessories fills the gap between the firearm and the firing line, focusing on the hardware that keeps equipment working smoothly and consistently.

About the Caldwell AR500 Target Post

The Caldwell AR500 Target Post is a purpose-built steel target hanger for shooters who want a more durable support than light-duty hanging hardware. Its role is straightforward but important: it provides a stable way to suspend compatible steel targets while standing up to the abuse that target systems see during repeated rifle and handgun practice. Because it is made from 3/8" AR500 steel, the post is designed for the same kind of hard use expected from rifle-rated steel target equipment, which helps it remain serviceable over time in demanding range conditions.

This model is especially useful for shooters who already own Caldwell steel targets or other plates cut with a 1/2" x 1" slot. The replaceable AR500 hook gives the system a practical advantage: the wear point can be serviced without replacing the entire post, which is valuable for frequent range use. Its two-piece construction makes transport easier than a fixed one-piece hanger, while the spike-leg design speeds up setup on suitable ground. Once assembled, the post reaches 70" in length and supports targets up to 50 lbs, making it suitable for larger hanging steel targets used in recreational shooting, training drills, and general range practice. The result is a compact but heavy-duty piece of range equipment that prioritizes durability, compatibility, and straightforward field handling.
