AL Mar Mini S.E.R.E. 2020 Coyote Series, 76 mm, Combo

• S.E.R.E. folding design: The compact folding format keeps a proven tactical knife pattern easy to carry for daily field use, travel, and general outdoor tasks without the bulk of a fixed blade.
• 76 mm combo-serrated blade: The straight edge handles controlled slicing cleanly, while the serrated section adds bite on fibrous material such as rope, webbing, and tough packaging.
• Stainless steel blade at 58 HRC: This balance of corrosion resistance and working hardness supports dependable edge retention while remaining practical to maintain in regular use.
• Machined modular construction: A precisely made build helps the knife feel solid in hand and easier to service or inspect than more complex multi-tool layouts.
• Metal carrying clip: The pocket clip keeps the knife accessible and consistently positioned, which matters when it is used as a compact backup or utility blade.

About the S.E.R.E. 2020 Series

The S.E.R.E. 2020 Series continues one of AL Mar’s best-known knife families in a modern folding format built around practical carry, clean lines, and field-oriented utility. The S.E.R.E. name comes from Survival-Evasion-Resistance-Escape, and that background still shapes the series: these knives are designed as straightforward cutting tools for users who value reliability, compactness, and controlled handling over unnecessary complexity.

Within the AL Mar range, the series sits as a tactical and outdoor folding knife platform with several size and finish variations. Typical applications include everyday carry, travel, general camp use, and duty-oriented backup roles where a slim folding knife is easier to carry than a larger fixed blade. The design philosophy is simple: a strong single-blade layout, a pocket-friendly profile, and materials chosen for regular working use. Across the series, the emphasis is on fast accessibility, practical blade geometry, and a handle shape that supports secure control during routine cutting tasks. That makes the S.E.R.E. 2020 line relevant not only to military and law-enforcement users, but also to outdoorsmen who want a compact tactical folding knife with a proven design heritage.

About the AL Mar Mini S.E.R.E. 2020 Coyote Series, 76 mm, Combo

The AL Mar Mini S.E.R.E. 2020 Coyote Series is the compact version of the platform, built around a 76.00 mm blade that is easier to carry discreetly while still offering enough cutting length for everyday outdoor and utility work. Its smaller format suits users who want the handling character of the S.E.R.E. pattern in a knife that rides comfortably in a pocket, pack, or travel kit. At 90.00 g, it stays light enough for constant carry without feeling insubstantial in hand.

This version uses a combo-serrated stainless steel blade with a satin finish. In practice, that gives it a broader working range than a plain edge alone: the straight section is useful for controlled push cuts and clean slicing, while the serrated portion improves performance on rope, straps, and other tough or slippery materials. The stated 58.00 HRC hardness points to a practical balance between edge holding and ease of maintenance, which is important for a knife intended for regular use rather than display.

The knife’s modular construction and machined build support a solid, purposeful feel, while the absence of extra rescue tools keeps the layout simple and focused on cutting performance. A metal carrying clip improves accessibility and makes pocket carry more secure and repeatable. Finished with a brown coyote-toned handle, this Mini S.E.R.E. 2020 fits naturally into outdoor, tactical, and travel-oriented roles where compact size, dependable cutting ability, and uncomplicated carry matter most.

About AL Mar

AL Mar was founded in 1979, and the company built its reputation around knives shaped by real military and field experience. Founder Al Mar served in a Green Beret special operations group in Vietnam before establishing the brand, and many of the early designs were created with police and military use in mind. The company later expanded its range to include hunting and fishing knives as well as folding, fixed-blade, rescue, and SERE models.

The SERE name is especially important in the brand’s history, as it refers to Survival-Evasion-Resistance-Escape and became closely associated with AL Mar’s practical tactical knife design. The SERE knife was accepted for use at the SERE Instructor School at Camp Mackall, North Carolina, which helped establish the pattern’s standing among serious users. Since January 1, 2019, Edge Technologies Engineering, LLC has handled the manufacture, distribution, and sale of AL MAR Knives.
