Sightmark Citadel 3-18x50 FFP

• First Focal Plane LR1 reticle: the reticle scales with magnification, so holdovers and ranging remain consistent from 3x to 18x. That makes the scope easier to use for precision shooting when distance and target size change quickly.
• 3-18x magnification range: low-end magnification is practical for scanning and target acquisition, while 18x gives the detail needed for small targets and careful shot placement at longer range.
• Lockable tactical turrets: exposed turrets allow fast elevation and windage corrections, and the locking design helps prevent accidental movement while carrying the rifle or moving between positions.
• 50 mm objective with fully multi-coated glass: the larger objective and coatings help maintain image brightness and contrast, which is useful in poor light and when trying to resolve detail against dark backgrounds.
• Side focus parallax adjustment: adjustable parallax from 15 m to infinity helps keep the target and reticle on the same focal plane, improving precision at both short and extended distances.

About the Sightmark Citadel Series

The Sightmark Citadel series was introduced in 2018 as a line of riflescopes built for shooters who need more than a basic hunting optic but do not want an overly specialized competition scope. The range covers both second-focal-plane models for close- to mid-range use and first-focal-plane variants for long-range shooting, giving the series a broad role across hunting optics, recreational shooting, law-enforcement use, and practical rifle competition.

Across the original Citadel family, Sightmark used fully multi-coated glass, red-illuminated reticles with 11 brightness settings, and a single-piece 30 mm tube made from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. That design approach gives the series a balance of useful adjustment range, solid mechanical strength, and familiar handling on modern sporting and precision rifles. Sightmark also positioned the line as field-ready, with original models described as IP67-rated, as well as fogproof and shockproof. In practice, the Citadel series is aimed at shooters who want practical magnification ranges, usable reticle systems, and durable construction for regular range work and demanding outdoor use.

About the Sightmark Citadel 3-18x50 FFP

The Sightmark Citadel 3-18x50 FFP is the long-range oriented model in the Citadel family, built around a 3-18x magnification range, a 50.00 mm objective lens, and a first focal plane reticle. This configuration suits rifles used for precision shooting, varmint work, and open-country hunting where the shooter may need to move from a relatively close target to a much smaller target at distance without changing optics. At 3x, the scope remains manageable for broader target acquisition, while 18x provides the image scale needed for careful aiming and reading target detail.

The FFP reticle is especially useful in a MIL/MIL tactical riflescope because the reticle’s subtensions stay true throughout the zoom range. That means holdovers and ranging references remain usable whether the shooter is working at mid power or full magnification. Red illumination helps the reticle stand out against dark targets or shaded backgrounds, while the side-focus parallax adjustment from 15 m to infinity supports more precise aiming across a wide spread of distances.

Mechanically, the scope is set up for active adjustment in the field. Lockable tactical turrets allow quick correction without relying only on reticle holds, and the 17.00 mrad / 60.00 MOA elevation and windage range gives useful room for zeroing and dialing. A 30 mm tube, nitrogen filling, and waterproof, fogproof, shockproof construction support reliable use in changing weather, while the fast-focus eyepiece helps the shooter bring the reticle into sharp focus quickly before a stage or shot sequence.

About Sightmark

Sightmark was introduced at SHOT Show in 2007 and is a brand of Sellmark Corporation, headquartered in Mansfield, Texas, United States. The brand focuses on optics and shooting accessories designed for rifles, shotguns, and pistols, with product development aimed at hunting, home defense, competition shooting, and general recreational use.

Its catalog covers a broad part of the shooting-optics market, including red-dot sights, riflescopes, laser boresights, binoculars, and spotting scopes. Sightmark also develops digital night-vision and thermal optics, particularly through its Wraith line. This breadth is relevant to the Citadel series because it shows the company’s experience across both conventional daytime optics and more specialized electronic sighting systems. In practical terms, Sightmark has built its reputation around functional, application-focused products that combine modern features with straightforward field use.
