Pard NV007SP and Pard NV007SP LRF

Unrivaled entry-level digital night vision clip-ons

At IWA 2023, we made sure to stop by Pard’s booth to see their new offerings. Pard is known for their affordable NV007 rear digital night vision clip-ons, which have seen several upgrades over the years. Since the introduction of the series, these rear digital night vision clip-ons were virtually unrivaled in the entry-level sector (around 500 €), often serving as an introduction to digital night vision for many users before they transitioned to more expensive front digital night vision clip-ons. This year, they are introducing the NV007SP and NV007SP LRF, new models with some notable improvements. In this article, we will discuss the enhancements that the SP models bring to the popular NV007 series.

The differences from the previous generation

Pard became famous for their rear digital night vision attachments, and they are doing their best to remain a key player in this field.

The NV007SP brings several key upgrades from the previous NV007S model:

  • The objective lens is now larger, measuring 22.5 mm instead of the previous 14.5 mm. This improvement results in enhanced image clarity for the user.
  • A new lever has been added to the supplied adapter, allowing users to attach and reattach the clip-on more quickly and efficiently.
  • Although the outer appearance remains largely similar, there are some noteworthy changes. The battery compartment has been relocated to the left side of the device, whereas it was on the right side in previous models. Consequently, the focusing knob can now be found on the right side, as opposed to its former position on the left side in earlier models.
  • Introducing a fresh addition to the NV007 series, Pard presents the NV007SP LRF, a model equipped with a laser rangefinding (LRF) capability. The laser can measure distances of up to 1200 meters.

For both the NV007SP and NV007SP LRF models, you have the option to select an illuminator that emits light at a wavelength of either 850 nm or 940 nm.

If you’re interested in learning more about the earlier generations in this series (NV007S, NV007A, NV007), we also have articles covering these devices on our blog (click the link). Many features, such as multimedia capabilities, focus adjustment, button functionality, and more, are preserved from the NV007S model. Still a sizable market

With the introduction of the NV007SP and NV007SP LRF models, Pard has decided to discontinue the NV007S models. The NV007V models remain in their lineup as the go-to option for those seeking the most affordable night vision clip-on available. The growing trend of front digital night vision attachments becoming more affordable (Pulsar Forward F455, Hikmicro Cheetah) raises intriguing questions about the future of rear digital night vision attachments. For the time being, there is still a sizable market for these devices, but we will see what the future brings. The standard NV007SP model is priced at 599 €, while the LRF model is available for an additional 100 €, retailing at 699 €.
