Hikmicro Habrok 4K Multi-Spectrum Binoculars

This year, our team attended the IWA 2024 fair in Nuremberg, Germany, the largest outdoor gear event in Europe. The fair introduced us to a variety of new products from numerous manufacturers, presenting an opportunity to explore the latest and greatest in the industry. During our visit, one of the stands that immediately caught our attention was that of Hikmicro, where we had the chance to take a closer look at their latest release: the Habrok 4K Multi-Spectrum Binoculars.

Technical Characteristics of Hikmicro Habrok 4K Multi-Spectrum Binoculars

Although Hikmicro has only been in the market since 2016, it’s clear they’ve made significant strides in sport optics, focusing largely on thermal vision. We’ve seen the Habrok thermal binoculars from Hikmicro before, and now the company is enhancing its lineup with the 4K model. This naturally raises the question: What exactly does the 4K model add?

What sets the new product apart is the CMOS sensor, enabling very clear detail viewing both at night and during the day, with a field of view of 12 m at 100 m. The device blends the functions of a thermal imaging monocular, a laser rangefinder, and a full-color binocular with a 5.5-22×60 magnification range into one compact unit. The Habrok 4K also allows for the seamless integration of the thermal and daytime channels.

Once an object is spotted in thermal mode, users can switch to the high 4K resolution mode to identify it with maximum clarity. The device also features a laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1,000 meters. The control buttons, made of rubber, are strategically placed on the top for easy access with either hand. When it comes to IR illuminators, there are two options available, 850 nm or 940 nm, allowing customers to select based on their preference.

While it’s not possible to merge the thermal and digital channels directly, a picture-in-picture mode is offered, where one image can be digital, for example, and the other thermal. Hikmicro chose not to include fusion mode in order to maintain the highest image quality for each channel. Additionally, both channels come with focusing capabilities to ensure the best possible image quality. The device is powered by two rechargeable, removeable 18650 batteries that are included in the package.

The design of the Habrok 4K is both sleek and compact, maintaining the traditional appearance of binoculars without becoming overly bulky or cumbersome to use. Focusing rings are conveniently located in front of the eyecups for both lenses, making adjustments straightforward. Additionally, the device supports video recording and photo capturing, allowing users to easily share their observations with others.

Warranty and Cost

The Habrok has truly proven to be a multifunctional device that has piqued our interest. Hikmicro anticipates its availability in stores by July 2024, with an expected price tag of 1500 €. Given the device’s build quality and the features we’ve observed, this price point seems reasonable and likely to attract a broad audience. Moreover, the device comes with a comprehensive warranty package, offering three years of coverage for the device itself, one year for the battery, and ten years for the sensor, which is also the most expensive component.

We appreciate Hikmicro’s decision to opt for a compact and sleek design that closely resembles traditional binoculars used in everyday settings and are eager to get a few units into our warehouse for further testing. Priced competitively, we believe the new Habrok 4K has a bright future in the company’s product lineup.
