With InfiRay CTP13, the user must hold the ON/OFF button for a few seconds. At approximately 5.40 seconds, the progress bar appears. Once this bar is full – at approximately 11.10 seconds – the image appears. We also measured the “ready to use” time, which is the time between the press of the on/off button and the time that all functions of the device are ready (the device is responsive to all users’ actions). We pressed the “menu” button to portray the ready to use time and discovered, that it was the same as the start up time. This means, that the device is ready to be used as soon as we get the image.
InfiRay CTP13 uses one CR123 (3.7V) battery, which is a useful feature, as you can switch the battery while on the field. For this testing we used the Panasonic CR123 battery.

The device is easy to handle, and the buttons are easy to press even if you are wearing gloves. It’s also small and lightweight.
The device has a Standby option, which is a remarkably useful battery-saving feature. When you hold the “ON/OFF” button, a countdown of 3 seconds appears on the screen. If you release the button before the time runs out, the screen turns off and the device enters the Standby mode. To use the device again, you simply press the “ON/OFF” button again.
If you wish to turn off the device, you must hold the “ON/OFF” button until the countdown 0, then you release the button.
