Introduction
When the Coronavirus event cancelling cascade began in 2020, we also began assembling a list of all the planned events influenced by the pandemic. And the event most Optics enthusiasts look forward to all year, that is, SHOT Show, was on the list as well. However, Swarovski, as well as some other optics manufacturers, came up with an innovative solution, that is, a Webinar.
As Swarovski is a premium brand, they also carried out the seminar in a first-rate way. Three innovations were introduced, one of them being the successor of their popular series CL Pocket. The first model came out in 2013 and now, in 2021, CL Pocket Gen II was introduced, and here is all you need to know about the new release.

CL Pocket Gen II
Let us take a look at some of the new features Swarovski has blessed us with. The new CL Pocket not only looks better, but it also has an improved focusing wheel, which enables effortless and smooth focusing. As far as the looks go, there is a new design of the armouring and the housing is made more durable, so the device rests more comfortably in your hands. With its reinforced hinge system, this optical device is ideal for all kinds of outdoor activities, for all kinds of generations.
Optically, there is no improvement to be seen. However, Swarovski did not leave any room for improvement in the first place, as the first generation was already on the top as far as optics is concerned. That being said, all novelties are physical, and not optical. Namely, the product is now also available in two different colours – green and anthracite. The latter is something new, and what has also been introduced are the two accessory packs: Wild Nature and Mountain.

We are already familiar with the Wild nature look from the CL Companion series, but the Mountain accessory pack is entirely new. Swarovski has been following a trend of offering various accessory packs, this one being an orange filed bag with their logo on it, along with a carrying strap, which resembles a climbing rope, hence the name, Mountain.
Over 70.000 people worldwide use the CL pocket version, which wonderfully sums up Swarovski’s slogan, which is: “Nature in your pocket.” It truly is so compact that it perfectly fits into any pocket, which is provided by the double hinge design and the small size of the binoculars. A cleaning set is also something fresh. Swarovski introduced it along with the binoculars at their Webinar, saying it can also be used for cleaning other binoculars, especially their lenses. It features a dust blower, a cleaning brush, a lens cleaner, and two microfiber cloths in different sizes.

Swarovski’s CL Pocket first came out in 2013, and on the 15th of February 2021, the second generation will be released, which will cost around €800. More specifically, the CL Pocket 8×25 will cost €780.00, and the CL Pocket 10×25 will cost €820.00. The warranty for these two products will be 10 years. So, if you fall within the group of nature enthusiasts, cyclists, campers, hikers, or simply those, who like to observe nature while taking the binoculars in and out of your pockets a lot, the CL Pocket Gen II binoculars are your ideal match.
Conclusion

Is it possible to predict a product’s success? In this case, our answer is a clear yes. We believe that Swarovski’s CL Pocket will reside at the top when it comes to the pocket binoculars market. It belongs to the premium price class, but it also delivers premium performance, especially when it comes to optical features. For now, it appears that the events in August will be protected from the event cancelling cascade, thus we hope that SHOT Show will be carried out, so we can safely confirm our prediction.
