Introduction
Vortex company from the USA is one of the fastest and quickest growing companies in the field of sports optics in the world. They produce riflescopes, binoculars, spotting scopes, rangefinders, red dot sights, mounts and other corresponding accessories. Vortex Strike Eagle riflescopes hit immense success on the market. Optically very solid and generally good riflescopes for a very reasonable price. This was the trademark of Strike Eagle riflescopes. It was only a matter of time when Vortex would release more models with similar optical characteristics and a decent price to this very desirable series of scopes.
Model range
Vortex released three new models which are suitable for different styles of hunting.
1-8×24 – suitable for IPSC competitions
3-18×44 – for stalking hunting and tactical shooting at medium range
4-24×50 – designed for long-range tactical shooting
Characteristics – model 1-8×24
The model 1-8×24 as we mentioned it is designed for driven hunts, CQB and IPSC shooting competitions. It has 8x zoom factor with 30 mm tube diameter. The scope is designed with capped turrets which are usually referred to as hunting turrets. They have 100 MOA or elevation and windage adjustment. At the moment there is only AR-BDC2 reticle available for this scope positioned in the SFP (second focal plane). The price of 1-8x at the moment is around 419€ which is really low if we consider that similar day-time illuminated riflescopes from other manufacturers cost considerably more.
Characteristics – model 3-18×44
Strike Eagle 3-18×44 is designed for stalking hunting and tactical shooting at a medium range. The reticle in this scope is EBR-4 tactical reticle which is positioned in the SFP (second focal plane). The scope has tactical turrets which have 120 MOA of elevation and windage adjustment with adjustable parallax set from 20 m to infinity. The scope is approximately 345 mm long and 680 g heavy. It has an illuminated reticle and fully multi-coated surface with 30 mm tube diameter. Price tags in correspondence to the optical quality are very favorable. Scopes are suitable for tactical and non-professional sport shooting at a medium range. Considering the price range of these riflescopes it’s expected that they have no zero stop configuration but they are all designed with an illuminated reticle. The value of the clicks is ¼ MOA with all except the wide-angle riflescopes. Parallax is adjustable with the side focus turret.
Characteristics – model 4-24×50
Another model designed for a bit more casual sports shooting and tactical shooting at a medium-long range is the Strike Eagle 4-24×50 which also has 6x zoom factor and is very reasonably priced at around 519€. This product is a bit longer than the other models from this series (378 mm). Model weights – 780 g. It has tactical turrets with 80 MOA of elevation, windage adjustment and adjustable parallax (20 m to infinity). 4-24×50 is useful for both close and long-range distance shooting. This is perhaps not the ideal sport shooting riflescope but with a certain measure of deviations, it can be used as such. This model has illuminated reticle and ¼ MOA of click value.

Conclusion
Considering the popularity of the previous Strike Eagle riflescopes we are eager to see the measure of success these models will hit on the market. Based on the price and performance of these products odds are quite high. Strike Eagle riflescopes are not very „rich“ in terms of characteristics but they have high zoom factor, VIP Vortex warranty and good price-performance ratio. When such a promising company as Vortex decides to presents new products to the market we are always very excited to see what they have to offer.
