During our visit to Sightron’s booth at Shot Show 2024, we explored their latest products for the year. Sightron has become a prominent figure in the optics market, particularly in F-class shooting. This year, they’ve focused on Field Target enthusiasts, introducing the new Sightron S6 10-60×56 ED FT. In this article, we are going to highlight its features.
The S6 series from Sightron is a recent addition to the market. At last year’s IWA, we examined the S6 5-30×56 ED riflescope, crafted for tactical shooting — a logical step, given the industry’s shift towards tactical engagements, including PRS competitions and the like. It’s pleasing to witness Sightron expanding their lineup with another field target riflescope.
Optically efficient
Sightron installed two ED glass optical elements at the front of the riflescope, enhancing its clarity and sharpness with a superior light transmission rate. The Zact-7 Revcoat Plus multi-coating technology effectively reduces color fringing, flare, and chromatic aberration.
Durable build
The body, featuring a 34mm tube, is constructed from high-grade aluminum, ensuring its durability. It has been rigorously tested to withstand 1000G forces for over 10,000 cycles.
Magnification properties
With most leading optics manufacturers offering riflescopes for field target shooting that extend magnification up to 60x, Sightron has followed suit. Additionally, they’ve introduced a 16x magnification mark on the magnification ring. This feature is particularly useful because many international competitions mandate the use of 16x magnification power. Without this specific marking, shooters are forced to default to the next lower marked setting, typically 12x, placing them at a considerable disadvantage.
Turret properties
Responding to customer feedback, the company equipped the S6 10-60×56 ED FT with large turrets featuring easily readable markings. The tactile and precise clicks, along with reliable tracking, are becoming a hallmark of Sightron’s quality. The elevation turret is exposed, while the windage turret is capped. Regarding the click value, the scope comes in two variants – one with a 1/8 MOA and the other with a 0.05 MIL click value, accommodating shooters from both the US and Europe. Correspondingly, the reticle matches the click value, available as either MOA-2FT or MH-FT.
Parallax wheel
The riflescope is equipped with a parallax wheel, an essential tool for field target competitions. This wheel can be effortlessly detached from the parallax turret, allowing for quick removal and reattachment in just a few seconds, greatly facilitating transport.
Given that most shots in field target competitions occur within the 25-to-50-meter range, Sightron has expanded the parallax adjustment range between these distances to 91 degrees. This adjustment capability enables shooters to achieve the utmost precision in focusing.
The scope can be purchased with or without the parallax wheel, offering an option for those who may already possess a parallax wheel they prefer to use.
Coming in summer, 2024
The Sightron S6 10-60×56 ED FT is slated for release in mid-summer. It will be priced at 1999 $ in the US market. Sightron provides a 100% lifetime performance guarantee on the riflescope, which equates to a 10-year warranty in the European market.
Hei. Er det mulig og få kjøpt og sendt til Norge. Mvh Inge Oddvar Sjøvoll
Of course, it will be possible to ship it to Norway, but the product is not coming out before summer, 2024.
