That is because the lower the noise level, the lower the NETD of the thermal detector, and the better it can discern small temperature differences.

With an 1800 m detection range, Thermion thermal imaging – riflescope is advertised as a way to make your night hunting trip easier without having to use a separate thermal – imaging riflescope to detect the animal.
