Introduction
Following the announcement of the launch of the Thermion 2 LRF XG50 riflescope at the start of last year, Yukon Advanced Optics Worldwide has finally made this new addition to the flagship Thermion 2 line available for purchase. It is an ideal companion for long-distance shooting and offers exceptional detection capabilities. Thermion 2 LRF XG50 and Talion XG35 are the first Pulsar XG-sensor riflescopes available for purchase outside of the United States.
Detection Capabilities
The Thermion 2 LRF XG50 offers a highly advanced thermal detection range of up to 2300 meters. The scope is equipped with a laser rangefinder that has a measurement range of up to 800 meters, allowing users to take an accurate shot with greater precision.
Magnification and Sensor
The riflescope has a base magnification of 3x and with the use of digital zoom, the image can be magnified up to 24x. The high-resolution 640×480 pixel (12 µm) French-made Lynred thermal imaging sensor provides sharp and highly contrasted image that allows for precise target identification and landscape observation. The sensor is paired with a fast aperture (F50/1.0) lens which further increases the device’s performance and makes it suitable for a wide range of hunting conditions.
Design and Features
The Thermion 2 LRF XG50 features a robust, reliable all-metal housing which resembles the looks of a standard daytime-usable riflescope. It can be mounted on a rifle with standard 30mm rings. The device is IPX7 waterproof rated for protection against heavy rainfall, snow, and other precipitation.
The user can capture photos and record videos – the files are saved on the device’s internal memory with a capacity of 16 GB. The scope is highly recoil resistant and can be used on rifles chambered for heavy calibers such as 9.3×64, .30-06, .300, and .375H&H. It has 5 individual shooting profiles and 50 zeroing distances, making it highly customizable to suit your needs. The built-in WiFi module connects the device with either Android or iOS smartphones using the Stream Vision 2 mobile app.
Battery Life
The thermal riflescope comes with an excellent operating time of up to 10 hours on a single battery charge with its combo of two rechargeable batteries: one built-in and one replaceable APS3 battery.
Conclusion
The Thermion 2 LRF XG50 is a valuable addition to Pulsar‘s well-regarded series of thermal riflescopes, specifically designed for hunters with high expectations and demanding needs. The device is already available for purchase – it retails for 4690 €.
