Introduction
Pulsar‘s Firmware 4.0 has first been introduced in the XP series. XM models followed soon after. We are glad to announce that the popular XQ devices won’t go unnoticed as well. Here it is – the hardly anticipated 4.0 update for:

Pulsar Firmware Update 4.0 XQ
Firmware 4.0 – Image Boost, User Mode, improved icon brightness
When the 4.0 update was released for the XP models, the owners of these devices couldn’t praise it enough once they installed it. Naturally, the owners of XQ models started asking themselves – will a similar update be released for my device? Well, here it is!
The first change that the update brings along is image detail boost. With the increase of the warm objects’ contour sharpness, the overall clarity of the image is now on a much higher level. As a result, it is much easier to identify the observed objects.

After you have successfully updated the device, the feature must be turned ON in the main menu. It works best when the temperature differences between warm objects and the atmosphere are high. Note that the image quality is still not on the same level as with XP devices because of the lower sensor resolution.

The second change is the inclusion of User mode. Now, the user can adjust the settings in the existing modes (Rocks, Forest, Identification) based on his or her personal preferences. Once set, the unit will remember the settings even if turned off and back on. The User mode can be accessed from the quick menu.
Last but not least, Pulsar improved the brightness settings of the icons. The range of brightness has been increased, allowing the user to adjust it even more precisely according to the ambient lighting. When it is dark, you can dim them down; when it is really bright, you can increase them so that they are clearly visible.
Pulsar also made some bug fixed and other minor changes to the XQ devices.
Pulsar encourages its customers to contact their client service should they encounter any problems when updating the device:
