Introduction of Meopta Optika 6
Meopta introduced a bunch of great things this year at Shot Show (2019). They amazed us with their new, unique Dichroic Reticle Technology – the technology was already implemented on some of the models from the newly introduced Optika 6 series of riflescopes which I am going to focus on in this article.

New features of Meopta riflescopes
What immediately grabbed my attention was the fact that all the newly introduced riflescopes from Optika 6 series will also be available with the DichroTech reticles (Meopta has not announced which ones yet) which feature a special coating that provides battery-free illumination. The MeoBright coating will make sure that the observed image is clear, sharp, and bright from edge to edge.
There are two subseries in the Meopta Optika 6 line – ‘Shooting’ and ‘Hunting’.
Meopta Optika 6 “Shooting” series
In the ‘Shooting’ series, the following models have been announced:
- 1–6×24
- 3–18×50
- 3–18×56
- 4.5–27×50
- 5–30×56 (this model features a 34mm tube and ED glass which helps eliminate chromatic aberration
Meopta Optika 6 “Hunting” series
In the ‘Hunting’ series, the following models have been announced:
- 1–6×24
- 2.5–15×44
- 3–18×50
- 3–18×56
- 4.5–27×50
Features of Optika 6 rifle scopes
Models from both subseries feature a 30mm tube (except for the 5–30×56 model which comes with a 34mm tube).
- The first difference is in the turrets. The ‘Shooting’ models have non-capped, target turrets with rubberized parts for protection and a non-slippery grip. The ‘Hunting’ models have standard, capped turrets (caps are made of metal and protected with rubber).
- The second major difference is in the positioning of the reticle – the ‘Shooting’ models have the reticle in the first focal plane, while the ‘Hunting’ models have it positioned in the second focal plane.
Both series will be available with illuminated reticle options, and the user will be able to pick between Mil and MOA when it comes to the click value of the turrets. They are made of aircraft-grade aluminum. The design of the turret allows a quick return to zero, and the user can mount a supplied throw lever if necessary. They also feature a locking function.

- Z-plus Dichro.
Conclusion
The expected retail price is from 450 to 800€, based on the model and the chosen features. We are pleased to see so many models with different configurations in this series – this way, Meopta has made sure that everyone finds a suitable magnification range. The option of ordering these with the new Dichroic Reticle Technology is a welcome bonus that might convince some customers to stop looking for a new riflescope elsewhere.
